This automaton will put both your and your allies’ skills to the test. Below, we’ll take a look at everything you need to know about this Trial, including each of Zelenia’s attacks in both of her phases, as well as how to deal with them.

How To Unlock Recollection

Recollection is unlocked almost immediately after completing the Patch 7.2 Dungeon The Underkeep. Both of these are unlocked through the quest ‘Descent to the Foundation’, which can be accepted from Shale in The Backroom in Solution Nine (X:6.0, Y:6.3). This is the sixth Main Scenario Quest added in Patch 7.2.

You will need to have an item level of 715 to participate in this Trial.

Recollection Trial Walkthrough

This Trial is divided into two phases, with the second phase building on the first. Here are Zelenia’s mechanics in each.

The edges of the arena are covered in an AoE; avoid touching it as you fight.

Phase 1

Attack Name

Type

Details

Alexandrian Thunder IV

Circle AoE/Ring AoE

Creates two AoEs, a smaller Circle AoE surrounding the boss, and a larger Ring AoE that covers the rest of the arena. These will appear in a random order, so find which one appears first to determine the safe area.

Shock

Continous AoE Markers

Targets all players with an AoE Marker that will drop a circular AoE on their position after a short countdown. Spread out from other players, then quickly move out of your AoE when it drops to avoid taking continuous damage.

Power Break

Half-circle AoE

Zelenia will slash with her sword, dealing damage to half of the arena. The half that is hit is determined by the direction her sword is angled, so watch closely to find the safe side of the arena.

Holy Hazard

Conal AoEs

Deals damage in two sets of consecutive cone AoEs. Stand between the first two conal AoEs to avoid the first set, then quickly move into the newly created safe area to avoid the second set.

Specter of the Lost

Double AoE Tankbuster

Both Tanks will be targeted with a high-damage attack conal AoE that blasts from Zelenia. Spread out from other players and ensure others aren’t behind the Tanks, then use defensive cooldowns to mitigate this damage.

Thunder Slash

AoEs

Zelenia will attack six slices of the arena in sequence. This attack will be combined with Alexandrian Thunder IV. Watch both the order the Circle and Ring AoEs appear in, as well as the order of the conal AoEs, then move accordingly to avoid.

Around 80 percent health remaining, Zelenia will knock everyone back, then transition to phase two.

Phase 2

During the second phase of the fight, Zelenia will use all of her previous attacks, as well as the following new ones.

Attack Name

Type

Details

Roseblood Bloom

Special

Zelenia will divide the arena into six segments, which will be used for several new mechanics. Some of these segments will be tinted red, indicating that they are ‘active’.

While Roseblood Bloom is active, the area directly underneath Zelenia will be covered in an AoE that inflicts a high-damage Bleed debuff on you if you touch it. Avoid walking directly under Zelenia as you avoid her attacks.

Alexandrian Thunder III

Circle AoEs

Deals damage in circle AoEs. If any of these AoEs hit the red active segments of Roseblood Bloom, the entire segment will explode, dealing damage.

Alexnadrian Thunder IV

Circle AoE/Ring AoE

The same attack as before, but now it will be used during Roseblood Bloom. When any part of the Thunder IV AoEs hit an active Roseblood segment, it will explode, so you’ll need to take extra care of your positioning.

Stock Break

Continuous Stack Marker

Targets a random player with a Continuous Stack Marker. Group up on the targeted player to spread out the damage of this attack, and stay there for the full duration. Healers will need to provide healing throughout the duration.

Roseblood Drop

Special

Zelenia will summon an orb that slowly moves toward one of the segments of Roseblood Bloom. When the orb arrives, it will transform that segment into a red-tinted active segment.

Valorous Ascension

Roomwide AoE

Deals multiple hits of damage to the entire party. Use AoE healing and party-wide mitigation.

Briar Thorn

Line AoE

Two sets of two circles will appear alongside one side of the outer edge of the arena. Then, these will fire line AoEs across the arena in the order they appeared in. Alternate where you’re standing to avoid both sets of AoEs.

Thorned Catharsis

Roomwide AoE

Deals a single hit of high damage to the entire raid.

Zelenia will repeat these attacks until you defeat her. Roseblood Bloom and its accompanying AoEs (Alexandrian Thunder III and IV) can be tricky to deal with at first, but will get easier with practice.

However, always keep in mind the position of the Roseblood Drop orb, as this can quickly turn a safe area into an unsafe one. Watch where the orb is moving and treat that area as dangerous., even before the orb gets there.

Once you’re comfortable with Roseblood Bloom, the rest of this fight isn’t too difficult. If you find yourself dying a lot, take a moment to watch how the AoEs resolve, and where the safe spots are.
