It’s incredible how much success the Xenoblade Chronicles series has seen since the original game launched on the Wii in North America in 2012. While it garnered a small audience then, interest in these titles grew significantly as sequels continued to receive universal praise and popular characters appeared in other games like Super Smash Bros.
Each game in the series features a different cast of characters and new gameplay mechanics, but, aside from Xenoblade Chronicles X, they all take place in the same universe. Now that every Xenoblade Chronicles game is available on the Nintendo Switch, we’ve decided to figure out how long it would take to beat each one (including expansions) to help new and returning players know how much time they should expect to spend on them all.
While there are multiple versions of the original Xenoblade Chronicles out there, we are using the data from the Definitive Version on Switch because it is the most accessible.
How Long To Beat Every Mainline Xenoblade Chronicles Game
The Xenoblade Chronicles games are notoriously massive and will require a decent amount of your time even if you’re just playing them for the story. Of course, it’s usually in your best interest to complete side quests and other optional objectives to make sure your party is as strong as possible, but the amount of time you spend with each title will vary depending on how much you want to accomplish.

How Long To Beat Every Xenoblade Chronicles Game
If you want to play through the main story of every Xenoblade Chronicles game and expansion, you should expect to spend roughly 290 hours with them before you’re done. That really is not that bad, but doing anything else beyond the main narrative is guaranteed to add some extra hours to your playtime.
For the completionist who plans on clearing every side quest, obtaining every weapon, and everything in between, you should plan on spending a lot of time with Shulk, Rex, and the rest of the Xenoblade crew. If you want to do everything in every Xenoblade Chronicles game and expansion, you should plan to spend about 904 hours with the series.
