When your small-time drug-dealing business with your uncle gets compromised by the authorities, you find yourself having to go back to square one in the simulator Schedule 1. With all the risks of managing an illegal business in a new town, you re-learn the tricks of the trade solo or with up to four friends to dominate the drug market.
As you start out, you’ll need to work your way up having lost your equipment and connections. Though your uncle can help set you up, you’ll have to do all the leg work yourself. That said, there are some tips you should know so you can grow your business with ease.
Keep Your Pockets Clean
It’s obvious that your business isn’t exactly the cleanest line of work in the city. The police are a big threat to your endeavors and with you going around selling and promoting your product, you will run into them at least once or twice. When the police stop you for a search, they’ll be going through every slot of your inventory.
You can hide items in your inventory, but you can only hide one item at a time by holding it while in its slot.
When the officer holds their light over the inventory slot, that means they’re currently looking at that spot, giving you time to grab your illegal item in another slot to hide it from their flashlight. It will, of course, get more difficult the more incriminating items you have on you.
As much as possible, only have the items you’ll be needing during your journey outdoors in your pockets. Leave the rest of the good stuff at home, lest they get you in trouble.
Don’t Take Too Many Orders
The more you sell, the happier your customers will be and the greater the demand for your wonderful products. That said, it’s easy to go overboard and accept all the orders you receive. Before you over-commit promising deliveries left and right, make sure you have enough supplies to begin with.
It may take time to produce your goods. Don’t accept orders that you aren’t prepared for or ensure that you’re scheduling orders for a later period when the products will be ready.
Give yourself ample time to get your supplies, produce your product, and make your deliveries. You’ll take a lot of pressure off when you give yourself more room to breathe when you have just the right amount of orders to take care of.
Price Your Goods Fairly
The only thing you want really high in your playthrough is your customers. If a customer offers you a price for your goods and you make a counter-offer that’s too high, chances are you’ll scare them off. You can see what a fair price is at the bottom of your screen.
You don’t have to sacrifice your prices to secure orders, of course. You can even raise your prices slightly, but make sure that you’re not going overboard.
Don’t Let Curfew Scare You
During curfew hours, the police will be out and about going after those breaking curfew. While you might prefer to stay indoors or even head to bed to avoid getting into trouble, you don’t have to be entirely afraid of going out during the curfew period.
Making deliveries during this time will give you a curfew bonus, giving you more cash per order. If you’re making several deliveries, this amount can pile up and even add up to the price of an order. That said, you might want to limit how many orders you take for delivery during curfew hours. Manage the risk you’re allowing yourself to take.
Buy Materials To Keep Yourself Busy At Night
If you want to spend your curfew hours safely but still be productive, you can work on your product. Before curfew hits, order all the supplies you need to pull off an all-nighter.
You can take orders during the night while making more of your product, and have them ready for delivery by morning. This will ensure that you’re meeting your financial objectives as quickly as possible, allowing you to expand your business and move up to the big leagues.
Use The Map To Organize Your Deliveries
You can access your map on your phone or by pressing M on your keyboard. On the map you’ll see different points of interest and the layout of the area. You’ll also see your customers and other people you can promote your product to.
When making deliveries, sometimes you might find yourself on a tight schedule. Deliveries are set to happen during a specific period of the day or night, and when that period passes, you’ll miss the deadline.
Make sure that you’re efficient with your deliveries by checking your map. Instead of running towards any point of interest that tickles your fancy, look for which customers are closest to each other. Cover sections with the most customers first, then target the customers that are further out.
Don’t Miss Out On Marketing
Business is about two things: supply and demand. Supply is a matter of purchasing materials and equipment, but you’ll need money to even afford these things. For that, you will need to generate demand. While you may have a customer base to start with, you will want to expand this if you expect to grow your business at all.
Check out your map and hover over the different icons of people in your area. You’ll see that there are those who can be potential customers if you entice them with your product. Bring these people your product and give them a free sample. You’ll see what their tastes are like and if any of your products fit their profile.
When making product, make enough to meet all your orders but it’s better to make additional stacks for marketing purposes. While you’re out making your deliveries, you can offer free samples to potential customers you come across.
There will be a rate of success depending on the product you offer the customer. If you’re successful in convincing them, they’ll be added to your customer base. If not, you can try again the next day. Remember their profile so you can prepare a product that fits better the next time you offer a free sample.
Expand When You Need To
Every growing business should eye expansion in order to scale production and make more supply to meet demand. You can get bigger shelves to accommodate more materials, get more Grow Tents to grow more seeds at once, or hire some help to automate your processes, allowing you to focus on other things.
That said, don’t expand if the demand for your product doesn’t call for it. If you use up a lot of your finances to invest in expansion straight away, you may find that the demand is not high enough for the kind of supply you can provide. You’ll end up producing more than you need at a time.
Keep promoting your product, building a good relationship with customers, and fulfilling orders diligently. As you do, you’ll find the right time to expand and you’ll have enough finances to do it properly. It goes without saying that you shouldn’t be afraid of expanding. When you feel that you’re getting more orders than you can handle, you definitely should invest in your production.
