Summary

  • Ifa, a 4-Star Anemo Catalyst, is expected to join Genshin Impact as the fifth healer, generating excitement among players.
  • Ifa’s ability kit offers potentially excellent healing and synergy with Electro-Charged teams.
  • With strong crowd control, Ifa can potentially become a powerful character, and his release is highly anticipated.

A recent leak in the Genshin Impact community has revealed details about Ifa’s ability kit, as the 4-Star Anemo Catalyst is set to become the element’s fifth healer. There has been considerable excitement about Ifa since the Archon Quest teased his appearance in Version 5.1. This excitement has no doubt been magnified by the fact that Genshin Impact has only introduced one male 5-Star character since Wriothesley, who was added in October 2023.

While Ifa in Genshin Impact won’t be a 5-Star on his own, his ability kit shows plenty of promise. As an Anemo healer, he joins the ranks of beloved characters, such as Xianyun and Jean. As a Support character from Natlan, his baseline value is already high. However, Genshin Impact players are wondering two things in particular: what sets Ifa apart from other Anemo Catalysts, and how he stacks up against other 4-Star characters.

Genshin Impact Players Spot Mysterious Character in Varesa’s Trailer

Genshin Impact’s recent character trailer for Varesa features a mysterious character who might be one of the playable units that could arrive in 5.6.

Thanks to Seele Leaks, fans can get an early overview of Ifa’s ability kit, as the veterinarian of the Flower-Feather Clan is set to make his playable debut in Version 5.6. Amusingly, Ifa can best be described as a better version of Yumemizuki Mizuki, the recently added 5-Star Standard character in Genshin Impact. His healing is uncapped and can easily keep up with Furina’s Fanfare, and he is built to synergize with Electro-Charged teams – rather fittingly, this makes Ororon an unmatched teammate for Ifa.

Genshin Impact: Ifa’s Ability Kit Overview

Skills

  • Normal Attack
    • Performs up to three consecutive attacks, dealing Anemo damage.
  • Charged Attack
    • Consumes a certain amount of Stamina to shoot forward, dealing AoE Anemo damage.
  • Plunging Attack
    • Plunges from mid-air to strike the ground below, damaging opponents along the path and dealing AoE Anemo damage upon impact.
  • Elemental Skill
    • Upon activation, Ifa gains 80 points of Nightsoul points and enters the Nightsoul’s Blessing state. During this state, with the assistance of Cacucu, Ifa hovers, and his Normal Attack transforms into Supportive Shooting:
      • Tap: Fires a Medicinal Bullet, dealing Anemo Nightsoul-aligned damage and healing party members. Healing scales with Elemental Mastery.
      • Hold: Continuously fires Medicinal Bullets, dealing damage and providing healing.
      • While in the Nightsoul’s Blessing state, holding the skill causes Ifa to perform a Plunging Nightsoul-aligned Attack. Releasing the hold interrupts the attack and maintains hovering; landing ends the Nightsoul’s Blessing state.
  • Elemental Burst
    • Launches a Therapeutic Field Sedative at enemies, which explodes upon impact, creating a Binding Wind Field that pulls in nearby items and enemies, dealing AoE Anemo Nightsoul-aligned damage.
    • If it hits enemies afflicted with Hydro, Pyro, Cryo, or Electro, it applies a “Calm Mark” that explodes after a short duration, dealing AoE damage of the corresponding element. Up to 4 enemies can have the “Calm Mark,” and they cannot be simultaneously affected by multiple elemental marks.

Talents

  • A1: While in the Nightsoul’s Blessing state, for every 1 Nightsoul point of all party members, Ifa gains 1 point of “Rescue Essentials” (up to 150 points), enhancing the Swirl and Electro-Charged reaction damage triggered by nearby party members. Each point of Rescue Essentials increases reaction damage by 1.2%. This effect is removed when Nightsoul’s Blessing ends.
  • A2: When nearby party members trigger “Nightsoul Burst,” Ifa’s Elemental Mastery increases by 80 points for 10 seconds.
  • P1: After Nightsoul points is depleted, Ifa consumes Phlogiston to maintain Nightsoul’s Blessing. In areas with the Phlogiston Mechanism in Natlan, when the active character switches to Ifa at a certain height in mid-air, Ifa enters the Nightsoul’s Blessing state and gains 32 Nightsoul points. The Nightsoul Transmission can occur once every 10 seconds.
  • P2: In areas with the Phlogiston Mechanism in Natlan, when the active character or attached dragon has HP below 40%, Ifa consumes 10 points of Phlogiston to heal them, restoring HP based on 150% of his Elemental Mastery. This effect can occur once every 10 seconds and is ineffective in Domains, Trounce Domains, and Spiral Abyss.

Constellations

  • C1: When “Supportive Shooting” hits an enemy, Ifa regenerates 6 Energy. This effect can occur once every 8 seconds.
  • C2: While in the Nightsoul’s Blessing state, for every point of the total Nightsoul points of all party members exceeding 60, Ifa gains an additional 3 points of “Rescue Essentials,” and the maximum limit of Rescue Essentials increases by 30 points. Requires unlocking Talent 1.
  • C3: Increases the level of Elemental Skill by 3, up to a maximum of 15.
  • C4: Extends the duration of the Binding Wind Field created by Elemental Burst to 3 seconds. After casting this skill, Ifa’s Elemental Mastery increases by 100 points for 15 seconds.
  • C5: Increases the level of Elemental Burst by 3, up to a maximum of 15.
  • C6: When Ifa holds to perform “Supportive Shooting,” there is a 50% chance to fire an additional Medicinal Bullet, dealing 120% of the original damage (considered Normal Attack damage). Additionally, outside of combat, the Nightsoul points and Phlogiston consumed during Nightsoul’s Blessing decrease by 20%.

One thing that immediately sticks out in his ability kit is Ifa’s ability to group enemies via his Elemental Burst. Depending on the strength of his crowd control, Ifa could easily establish himself as a powerful 4-Star character in Genshin Impact. With an ability kit that scales through Elemental Mastery, it may be a difficult task to obtain a full Artifact Set on time – unless fans borrow Viridescent Venerer from their other Anemo characters, such as Kazuha or Lan Yan.

Given that Ifa wants Natlan teammates, as well as the fact that he buffs Electro-Charged damage, it seems that he will be stuck with Ororon in Genshin Impact for the foreseeable future. A team that pairs the duo with Furina and Fischl seems the most logical choice, but Ifa can also work with Yelan, as he is primarily set up to be the “driver” of a Taser build, and can trigger continuous reactions with his Normal Attacks. The exact numbers of Ifa’s ability kit are expected to arrive by the end of March 2025, while Version 5.6 is set to come out on May 7, 2025.
