Summary
- Fortnite leak hints at a mystery Mortal Kombat skin coming soon.
- Mortal Kombat LTM with MK mythics and new boons allegedly on the way.
A significant supposed leak from Fortnite potentially reveals a new skin from Mortal Kombat will be coming to the game, albeit one that remains a mystery. While Fortnite currently has a Mortal Kombat character available, with another member of the legendary fighting game franchise incoming in Scorpion, a third character is now rumored to be entering the fray.
Epic Games’ endlessly popular Battle Royale title is currently in the midst of its Chapter 6, Season 2. Titled as “Lawless,” the season introduces a criminal underworld theme complete with heist-style missions, Black Markets that sell powerful weaponry, and more. The season also brought in Mortal Kombat‘s resident cryomancer Sub-Zero, along with Sub-Zero’s Kombat Kit, allowing players to gain icy abilities. While Bi-Han (or perhaps Kuai Liang) is the only kombatant at the moment, two other Mortal Kombat characters should soon be joining him.

According to a leaker called Loolo, Fortnite‘s encrypted files not only reveal Scorpion, but another unidentifiable Mortal Kombat character that will be added to the game. The leaker also states that Fortnite will be getting a Mortal Kombat LTM. Many Fortnite fans are likely already aware that Scorpion, the foil to Sub-Zero and arguably the best-known Mortal Kombat character, is coming to the game from a leak in February. The leak was of Mythic Mortal Kombat items for Fortnite, which included the previously mentioned Sub-Zero item as well as Scorpion’s iconic Hook Spear, all but confirming Hanzo Hasashi’s arrival.
Fortnite fans have been quick to theorize who the potential third Mortal Kombat character could be, with many thinking it to be Raiden due to his appearance on the ice cream cart from Sub-Zero’s Emote. However, there is a slight chance that neither of the Mortal Kombat characters will show up until next season, if a specific rumor turns out to be true. According to prominent Fortnite leaker Shiina, Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 3 could be a mini-season, with the season supposedly being only 35 days, which would have it ending on March 29.
More Ninjas Arriving in Fortnite
While the prospect of more Mortal Kombat crossover content is certainly exciting, it isn’t the only ninja-themed franchise to be dropping into Fortnite. Yet another leak has potentially revealed that new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles skins will be in Fortnite, this time focusing on the franchise’s iconic villains such as Krang, Bebop, and Rocksteady. While the turtles have previously been featured in Mortal Kombat developer Netherrealm Studios’ other fighting franchise Injustice, TMNT and Mortal Kombat will be in the same game together, leaving no shortage of crossover ninja-type characters in Fortnite.
