The team behind Days Gone Remastered has shared that the game will add six new PlayStation Trophies on top of the original’s tally. In doing so, Days Gone Remastered is also set to offer returning players more incentive to play the upgraded version of the 2019 action-adventure title.
Over the past few years, Days Gone, the post-apocalyptic title developed by Bend Studio, has managed to cultivate a community of dedicated fans despite the game’s mixed reception at launch. As a result, there have been some calls for a Days Gone sequel from fans, a project to which neither the studio nor its parent company, Sony, has committed to so far. Although there is no movement on that front, Days Gone fans were treated to another interesting update in February 2025, with Sony unveiling a PS5 exclusive remaster of the original title scheduled for release on April 25. After previously showing glimpses of the game via a reveal trailer, the devs recently revealed a new announcement for trophy hunters.

Days Gone Remastered’s Release Date is Cutting it Close to Another Remastered PlayStation Release
The recently-revealed Days Gone Remastered isn’t far from release, but neither is another PlayStation PC title that’s awfully similar.
In a new Twitter post, Bend Studio revealed that there will be a total of 67 trophies in Days Gone Remastered, six more than the total number of trophies available in the original game. Among them, four trophies are related to the new Horde Assault mode, which involves surviving against waves of zombie hordes for as long as possible. Moreover, in addition to being part of Days Gone Remastered, the new set of trophies will also be shipped to the PC version of Days Gone as Steam Achievements. For returning players who choose to carry over their saves from the PS4 version of the original game, the trophies have also been confirmed to automatically transfer to the PS5 remaster.

- Freakshow: Survive Horde Assault for 15 minutes
- I’m On Top of the World: Beat the target score for all levels in Horde Assault

When it comes to remasters of relatively recent titles like Days Gone and The Last of Us Part 2, there might be some lingering questions about why fans who already own a copy of the original would want to upgrade. Certain features, such as the recently revealed bundle of new trophies, do provide some added incentive for existing players, especially for completionists. On top of this, the new game modes, DualSense support, and more accessibility options are some of the salient offerings found in Days Gone Remastered, apart from the improved visuals.
While the forthcoming remaster is certainly an encouraging move in the eyes of longtime Days Gone fans, there may be a chance that the title’s sequel plans will be revived at some point in the future. With Bend Studio’s in-development live-service game recently being binned as of January 2025, it could be possible that the devs eventually consider a new Days Gone mainline entry.
