Genshin Impact: Furina Ascension and Talent Materials List
Furina, a charismatic Hydro user, has arrived in Genshin Impact as a playable character.
When it comes to choosing the best weapons for Varesa, her preferences lean heavily toward those providing Crit Values, ATK, Elemental DMG, or Plunging DMG. While her signature weapon, Vivid Notions, remains the top choice, other options—both premium and F2P—perform similarly depending on refinement levels and team setups. This versatility ensures that players can effectively utilize Varesa with a wide array of weapon choices, catering to different playstyles and resource availability. Here’s how Varesa’s best weapons fare among each other in Genshin Impact.
8
Flowing Purity
- Main Stat: 565 Base ATK
- Secondary Stat: 27.6% ATK
- R5 Effect: When using an Elemental Skill, All Elemental DMG Bonus will be increased by 16% for 15s, and a Bond of Life worth 24% of Max HP will be granted. This effect can be triggered once every 10s. When the Bond of Life is cleared, every 1,000 HP cleared in the process will provide 4% All Elemental DMG Bonus, up to a maximum of 24%. This effect lasts 15s.
Flowing Purity, a craftable 4-star
Catalyst from Fontaine
, stands out as the best entirely free-to-play option for Varesa. Its Base ATK and additional ATK secondary stat offer a decent ATK for her. While Varesa doesn’t typically interact directly with the
Bond of Life mechanic
—since her kit isn’t focused on HP management—this weapon’s synergy can be maximized with the help of a healer. Paired with synergetic healers however Varesa can consistently clear the Bond of Life and gain the additional Elemental DMG Bonus. This makes Flowing Purity a surprisingly effective choice, especially in team compositions with strong healing support.
7
Skyward’s Atlas
- Primary Stat: 674 Base ATK
- Secondary Stat: 33.1% ATK
- R1 Effect: Increases Elemental DMG Bonus by 12%. Normal Attack hits have a 50% chance to earn the favor of the clouds. which actively seek out nearby opponents to attack for 15s, dealing 160% ATK DMG. Can only occur once every 30s.
As a standard 5-star Catalyst, Skyward Atlas offers ATK% as its secondary stat and boosts Elemental DMG through its passive. While this makes it a decent weapon for increasing Varesa’s overall damage, it does not directly amplify her unique Plunging Attack mechanics. It remains a good fallback option for players without premium Catalysts especially if they’d prefer having additional ATK over Crit Values when min-maxing Varesa’s stats.
6
Crane’s Echoing Call
- Primary Stat: 741 Base ATK
- Secondary Stat: 16.5% ATK
- R1 Effect: After the equipping character hits an opponent with a Plunging Attack, all nearby party members’ Plunging Attacks will deal 28% increased DMG for 20s. When nearby party members hit opponents with Plunging Attacks, they will restore 2.5 Energy to the equipping character. Energy can restored this way every 0.7s. This energy regain effect can be triggered even if the equipping character is not on the field.
Crane’s Echoing Call, the
signature weapon for Xianyun
, provides strong synergy for Plunging Attack-based teams but functions better as a supportive option rather than as Varesa’s primary weapon. While its passive boosts Plunging Attack damage for all nearby characters and provides energy restoration, Varesa’s reliance on Crit stats for consistent damage output makes this weapon less optimal for her. The ATK% secondary stat is helpful, but the focus on Energy Recharge and teamwide support aligns more closely with Xianyun’s role as a utility unit for characters like Varesa rather than Varesa herself. That being the case Crane’s Echoing Call can still be a niche choice in
compositions where Xianyun
equips it, boosting Varesa’s Plunging Attack damage indirectly while Varesa can equip another weapon on her own.
5
The Widsith (R5)
- Main Stat: 510 Base ATK
- Secondary Stat: 55.1% Crit DMG
- R5 Effect: When a character takes the field, they will gain a random theme song for 10s. This can only occur once every 30s. Recitative: ATK is increased by 120%. Aria: Increases all Elemental DMG by 96%. Interlude: Elemental Mastery is increased by 480.
The Widsith is the best 4-star weapon for Varesa, with the potential to outperform many 5-star options under certain conditions. With a decent Crit Damage secondary stat and a passive that randomly provides one of three buffs (ATK%, Elemental Mastery, or Elemental DMG), it can greatly enhance her damage output during its 10-second active duration—especially when the Aria buff is triggered. However, this RNG-dependent passive means its overall average performance is lower compared to the guaranteed consistency of most 5-star weapons. The short duration of the buffs also limits its effectiveness in longer rotations, making it also team-dependant beyond also being RNG dependant. Nevertheless, while Elemental DMG buff is the most versatile option to gain, ATK% buff for Plunge oriented teams (such as with Xianyun) or otherwise Elemental Mastery for overloaded teams (for example with Iansan and Chevreuse) still make it an excellent option in most scenarios.
4
Tome of the Eternal Flow or Surf’s Up
- Main Stat: 565 Base ATK
- Secondary Stat: 88.2% Crit DMG
- Tome of the Eternal Flow Effect: HP is increased by 16%. When current HP increases or decreases, Charged Attack DMG will be increased by 14% for 4s. Max 3 stacks, can be triggered once every 0.3s. When you have 3 stacks or refresh a third stack’s duration, 8 Energy will be restored. This Energy restoration effect can be triggered once every 12s.
- Surf’s Up Effect: Max HP increased by 20%. Once every 15s, for the 14s after using an Elemental Skill: Gain 4 Scorching Summer stacks. Each stack increases Normal Attack DMG by 12%. For the duration of the effect, every 1.5s, lose 1 stack after a Normal Attack hits an opponent; once every 1.5s, gain 1 stack after triggering a Vaporize reaction on an opponent. Max 4 Scorching Summer stacks.

Genshin Impact: Every Playable Hydro User, Ranked
Among the elemental abilities in Genshin Impact, Hydro can be a bit tricky to work with. Knowing the best playable Hydro users in the game can help!
Both Tome of the Eternal Flow and Surf’s Up work as stat sticks for Varesa due to their shared, relatively low, Base ATK but exceptionally high Crit DMG values, but beyond that not being as useful. As their secondary stats simply increase HP and either provide Charged Attack or Normal Attack DMG, they do not align as perfectly with Varesa’s primary Plunging Attack playstyle compared to other options.
3
Lost Prayer to the Sacred Winds
- Primary Stat: 608 Base ATK
- Secondary Stat: 33.1% Crit Rate
- R1 Effect: Increases Movement SPD by 10%. When in battle, gain an 8% Elemental DMG Bonus every 4s. Max 4 stacks. Lasts until the character falls or leaves combat.
Lost Prayer to the Sacred Winds is an ideal option for players who prefer to provide her Crit Rate instead of Crit DMG or ATK through her weapon, despite this not being very desirable especially if players are planning to equip her with Obsidian Codex, since her ascension stat is also Crit Rate. While this weapon requires Varesa to stay on the field for a longer duration to make full use of its stacking Elemental DMG bonus, it synergizes well with her kit. This makes it a strong option for prolonged combat scenarios but less effective in quick-swap team setups.
2
Kagura’s Verity
- Primary Stat: 608 Base ATK
- Secondary Stat: 66.2% Crit DMG
- R1 Effect: Gains the Kagura Dance effect when using an Elemental Skill, causing the Elemental Skill DMG of the character wielding this weapon to increase by 12% for 16s. Max 3 stacks. This character will gain 12% All Elemental DMG Bonus when they possess 3 stacks.
Kagura’s Verity, the
signature of Yae Miko
, is another strong contender for Varesa. With a Crit Damage secondary and a passive that increases Elemental Skill damage, this weapon works well for enhancing Varesa’s overall output. While it does not directly improve Plunging Attacks, its Crit stat and synergy with her Skill make it an excellent alternative for players who already own it. Furthermore, if players can activate Varesa’s Elemental Burst in quick successions, they can also gain the 12% Elemental DMG Bonus, which however is not as consistent for her as it is for Yae Miko. This makes Kagura’s Verity Varesa’s next best option after her signature, despite still falling largely behind in DPS output.
1
Vivid Notions
- Primary Stat: 674 Base ATK
- Secondary Stat: 44.1% Crit DMG
- R1 Effect: ATK is increased by 28%. When you use a Plunging Attack, you will gain the “Dawn’s First Hue” effect: Plunging Attack CRIT DMG is increased by 28%. When you use an Elemental Skill or Burst, you will gain the “Twilight’s Splendor” effect: Plunging Attack CRIT DMG is increased by 40%. The two effects above each last for 15s, and will be canceled 0.1s after the ground impact hits a target.
As Varesa’s signature weapon, Vivid Notions is tailor-made to complement her Plunging Attack-centric playstyle. It provides a high base ATK and Crit Damage as its secondary stat, making it the optimal choice for maximizing her damage output. While the Crit DMG provided might not look as high as the other 5-star alternatives, the weapon’s passive further enhances ATK% damage and boosts Crit DMG, specifically for plunging ATK’s by up to 68%, ensuring Varesa remains consistent as a DPS powerhouse. Among all available options, Vivid Notions performs significantly better than any alternative, making it the ideal weapon for players who aim to fully optimize Varesa’s potential.
