Armor sets in Monster Hunter Wilds aren’t just for protection. Each piece of gear also comes with armor skills that provide serious stat boosts or even define entire playstyles. For this reason, players will want to use armor pieces that work best with the weapons they bring to a hunt.
This guide covers a couple of the most popular armor sets in Monster Hunter Wilds as well as some sets meant for those who are still climbing through High Rank.

Monster Hunter Wilds: Convert Element, Explained
Convert Element is a strong skill in Monster Hunter Wilds, but players need to know how to take advantage of it.
Almost all armor pieces used here are the Beta versions. For players who don’t have enough decorations to play around with, consider using the Alpha versions instead.
Good Base Armor with High Versatility
This might just be the most versatile armor set in the game, and it’s used as the basis for plenty of meta builds. It gives players bonus critical hit chance and attack power via Weakness Exploit, Agitator, and the Antivirus/Black Eclipse I combo. With two points to Constitution, players can easily turn this into a Bow or Dual Blades set too.
The biggest downside of this mixed armor set is it is heavily reliant on decorations. Players who are yet to get good skill jewels should steer clear of this set and use the other armor combos below.
Gore Magala Armor Set
For Hyper-Aggressive Playstyles
This is a straightforward armor set that rewards players who can press the attack. While the armor skills here aren’t much to look at, this set’s true value comes from Black Eclipse II, which increases both Affinity and Attack Power when cleansing Frenzy.
Like the previous armor set, this one relies on having good decorations on-hand. It’s not as bad by itself, but in order to truly shine, players will need to fill up its decoration slots with the right armor skills.
The next few armor sets are meant for players who are yet to reach HR41.

These armor sets in Monster Hunter Wilds have the most fashionable female versions.
Budget Agitator Set
Decent Set for Pre-Arkveld Hunters
- Best for: All weapons except Bow and Dual Blades
Using this mixed set is an easy way for players to get Agitator 5 without relying on decorations or farming Arkveld and Gore Magala. Agitator is a solid skill for all weapons, and this set has enough slots to fit in other Level 2 jewels like Counter and Might for even better offensive stats.
The downside of this set is it lacks level 1 decoration slots for the Constitution skill, making it less appealing for Bow and Dual Blades users. Constitution is borderline mandatory for those weapons since dodging is a key part of their playstyles.
Guardian Fulgur Anjanath Set
For Heavy Hitters
- Best for: Greatsword, Lance, Gunlance, Hammer, Hunting Horn, Charge Blade, Heavy Bowgun (HBG)
This set uses the Guardian Fulgur Anjanath armor to grant players extra stamina bars, which have a unique interaction with the Maximum Might skill. Normally, the latter skill deactivates when players lose stamina, but with the armor set’s bonus stamina bars, players will be able to keep Maximum Might active even after they dodge or block an attack.
Maximum Might 3 provides a whopping 30% Affinity bonus when active, and given how easy it is to activate and maintain, it’s the perfect complement for weapons that don’t use stamina for attacks and other moves, such as the Greatsword.
Players with enough Mighty Jewels can replace G Fulgur Coil Alpha with either the Beta version to retain the four-piece bonus, or with G Ebony Coil Beta for an extra point of Burst.

Adrenaline Rush Set
For Hunters with Quick Reflexes
- Best for: Long Sword, Sword and Shield
This set provides easy access Adrenaline Rush 5, which increases the user’s raw attack power by 30 after perfectly dodging an incoming hit. This skill is particularly useful for the Long Sword and Sword and Shield, as dodging with these weapons is baked naturally into their movesets.
All weapons can make use of Adrenaline Rush as long as players can perfectly dodge attacks. Also, this set activates the Protein Fiend skill, which will give players bonus Attack after eating Well-Done Steaks.
Rathalos Set
For Nimble Fighters
- Best for: Bow, Light Bowgun (LBG), Dual Blades, Longsword, Sword and Shield
For players who want a dedicated Bow and Dual Blades build for their journey through High Rank, then the entire Rathalos armor set is a good option. Adrenaline Rush, Evade Window, and Constitution are all top-tier skills for any dodge-heavy playstyle, and as a cherry on top, it will also give players Scorcher II, which gives attacks a chance to deal extra elemental Fire damage.
Hunters who want to deal more damage can replace Rathalos Helm Beta for G Ebony Helm Beta. This will trade one point of Constitution and one point of Evade Window for two points of the Burst skill, which will make players deal more damage just by attacking.
