Summary
- Monster Hunter Wilds is adding the option to customise Alma in its first title update.
- You’ll be able to change her outfit at camp, as well as her glasses after “completing a certain side mission”.
During today’s Monster Hunter Wilds showcase, Capcom revealed that players will soon be able to customise Alma.
When the update goes live next Friday, on April 4, you’ll find a new option at camp under the “Change Appearance” tab simply titled “Change Alma’s Outfit”. Right now, there are only two options – her base “Handler’s Outfit”, and the “Scrivener’s Coat”, which will be added to the game free of charge.

After “completing a certain side mission”, you’ll also unlock the option to change her glasses. It’s unclear what side mission Capcom is referencing, and it didn’t show any of the options on offer aside from the “Strategist Spectacles”, but it’s a huge step towards making the camp feel more your own.
You can find the Alma segment in the showcase below from the 17-minute mark.
Modders Have Already Been Customising Alma, For Better And Worse
While it’s likely that at least some future Alma outfits will cost real money, given Capcom stressed that the Scrivener’s Coat is free (so the community can try this feature out for themselves), modders have already implemented their own skins anyway.
Some are minor cosmetic tweaks, like black nail polish or more appropriate hunting gear, but others more nefariously boast that they’re “fixing” her. Take “Alternate Alma”, which completely replaces her body, changes her hairstyle, and removes her glasses; or “Alma Face Edit”, which supposedly “makes her more attractive”. Think the yassified Aloy edits.
It’ll be a lot easier to change Alma’s appearance once the update goes live, given that a direct option is being added to camp, so hopefully the mods that inevitably come out of this update will be more tasteful than what we’ve seen so far.
