Battle Beast is one of the most fascinating and powerful characters in the Invincible TV show, standing out as a character whose motivation isn’t right or wrong but the thrill of the fight. While he isn’t a central villain, his presence shakes up every scene he is in. This is especially true in the early episodes of Invincible when he casually showed up looking like a B-class villain but turned out to be stronger than Viltrumites.

Who Is Battle Beast?
Battle Beast (real name: Thokk) was initially his planet’s strongest guardian, and he was constantly fighting. Because of this, he had an unquenchable desire for combat. This obsession drove him to become a mercenary, aligning with those who could offer the best battles, irrespective of their moral standing. His encounters with Invincible and other heroes often stemmed from this pursuit of worthy opponents.
I was promised this world offered worthy opponents! But, oh, how you disappoint. Killing you is an act of mercy.
Battle Beast is first introduced in episode five of Invincible, where he works for Machine Head, a powerful crime lord. Machine Head hires him as part of a group of villains meant to ambush Invincible and the Guardians of the Globe. However, unlike the other mercenaries, Battle Beast isn’t interested in money; he’s only there for the fight.
When the battle begins, Battle Beast immediately proves to be on another level. He effortlessly beats down Invincible, Monster Girl, and Black Samson, nearly killing them. When he realizes that none of them are worthy opponents, he loses interest and leaves on his own, leaving the viewers awe-struck over what just happened.
Battle Beast Versus Viltrumites
In season three, when Allen is desperately trying to stop Nolan’s execution in the Viltrumite prison, he starts freeing the prisoners and eventually runs into Battle Beast. After Allen promises a worthy fight against the Viltrumites for Battle Beast, he starts to help him find Nolan to appease his lust for battle.
When they finally run into the two Viltrumites, Nolan and Allen manage to kill one, while Battle Beast solos another. However, he gets lost in space and eventually freezes till the end of the season, when he’s saved by some random aliens.
In the comics, he shows up again further down, once to help Mark and Nolan in the Viltrumite war, and then in a fight against Thragg himself. The latter finally gave him the warrior’s death that he craved, as the battle between the two strongest characters in Invincible came to a close.
