The S-Rank Hunters That Can Rival Jinwoo, Explained

This article contains spoilers from Solo Leveling Season 2.

Summary

  • Jinwoo’s immense powers, including defeating the Demon King and Ant King, make him unbeatable in combat.
  • Few characters in the world of Solo Leveling can rival Jinwoo, such as Liu Zhigang and Thomas Andre.
  • Fans are eagerly awaiting Solo Leveling Season 2 episode 13, set to release on March 30, 2025, to see Jinwoo continue to grow stronger.

Solo Leveling has seen the immense growth of Jinwoo over the past two seasons and fans know that this character is only getting stronger, thanks to the system. Although Jinwoo started as a rather weak E-Rank hunter, he has since then become an S-Rank strong enough to fight against even the mightiest of beings. Recently in Solo Leveling Season 2, fans saw Jinwoo take and defeat the Ant King, and by the looks of it, this fight wasn’t even too difficult for him.

Solo Leveling: Every Major Shadow Of Sung Jinwoo, Explained

Sung Jinwoo has aquired some very powereful shadows. These are his strongest in Solo Leveling, so far.

Jinwoo showed what he was truly capable of, and now that he’s practically cleared an S-Rank gate by himself, he is essentially in the same league as the strongest National Level Hunters of the world. Right now, no other Hunter in Korea can fight Jinwoo and hope to win. In fact, few in the whole world stand a chance against him.

Jinwoo’s Immense Powers At The End Of Season 2

Jinwoo Beat The Demon King and the Ant King

In Solo Leveling Season 2, fans saw a different side of Jinwoo that they weren’t used to seeing. He showed immense powers and maturity and having acquired his Shadow Monarch powers, Jinwoo was, undoubtedly, going to be a force to be reckoned with. Jinwoo got access to many powerful shadows throughout Solo Leveling Season 2, such as Iron, Tank, Tusk, and of course. Igris already stood by his side, and together, all these monsters made Jinwoo far stronger than any other S-Rank in South Korea.

I’ve come so far, but I do not intend to stop here. — Jinwoo

That said, Jinwoo himself isn’t easy to beat. He’s stronger than all of his shadows and this was proven to the fans recently in Jinwoo’s battle against the Ant King. This fight, although difficult on paper, was not all that difficult for Jinwoo. Fans saw him reach very high levels of power and essentially destroy the Ant King rather easily. Be it strength or speed, Jinwoo was far superior to the Ant King, which goes to say a lot.

On top of that, Jinwoo had already beaten the Demon King by this time in the story as well. Following both of these victories, Jinwoo leveled up again and got even stronger. Right now, there are very few characters in the world of Solo Leveling that can rival Jinwoo or even stand a chance of beating him.

The Rivals For Jinwoo At This Point in The Story

Jinwoo Seems Unbeatable In Combat

As things stand, Jinwoo has few to no rivals in Solo Leveling. However, the story has already set up the basis for those who can be compared to Jinwoo. For instance, as the Jeju Raid was going on, the name Liu Zhigang was mentioned, which goes to show the fans that this Hunter is a cut above the rest and most certainly one that is closer to Jinwoo in terms of power. Similarly, fans know there are others as well who are quite powerful in Solo Leveling.

  • Christopher Reed: Fans don’t know much about Christopher Reed in solo Leveling, however, it is already mentioned in the story that Reed is one of the National Level Hunters. His overall ranking around the world is #3, and that makes him a very formidable foe, even for someone like Jinwoo. He’s most likely far stronger than the Ant King and given that he took part in the Kamish Raid, it goes without saying that his powers are class apart.

Jinwoo is yet to aquire his most powerful shadow. This shadow will be on a whole different level in Solo Leveling.

  • Liu Zhigang: Known to be a master swordsman and a National Level Hunter, Liu Zhigang was seen for a short while in Solo Leveling Season 2, and fans know already that he’s a monster who doesn’t fear even the likes of the Ant King. His strength can only be rivaled by a select few in the world of Solo Leveling, and of course, Jinwoo is one of them.
  • Thomas Andre: Ranked #1 in the whole world, Thomas Andre is said to be a monster in terms of powers. There is absolutely no denying the fact that Thomas is a beast himself and that right now, he can take on and probably even defeat Jinwoo. Of course, Jinwoo can and will still grow stronger. But, at the moment, Thomas is a level above him.
  • Sung Il-Hwan: Quite possibly the strongest Hunter in the world of Solo Leveling at the moment, Sung Il-Hwan is above even Jinwoo. Fans know him to have defeated Hwang Dongsoo rather easily. His true power is far greater and fans will see more of it later down the line.

Solo Leveling Season 2 episode 13 is set to release on March 30, 2025, at 12 AM JST on ABEMA and Tokyo MX. Fans can watch the episode on Crunchyroll, and, in doing so, support the official release of the anime.
