Trojan’s Horse
“He Put The Dick In Contradiction”
Compared to other episodes, Trojan Horse ends up feeling like the weakest of the season. In this, the main storyline with Cold Harbor and Gemma is barely touched as the characters are coming to terms with the loss of their Innie friend, Irving. The episode sees the Innie group from MDR attend an unusual funeral for him, where Innie Dylan gives a heartfelt speech.
On the other hand, tensions rise between Innie Mark and Helly R as the events of Woe’s Hollow lead to trust issues. The floor leader, Milchick, also suffers due to the failure of the outdoor trip as he gets his first performance and receives some very specific criticism. However, the episode does have an emotional ending as Outie Mark finally gets a glimpse at his wife through his Innie’s memories.

Sweet Vitriol
“Lumon Destroyed This Town”
Sweet Vitriol is the shortest episode of Season 2 with only 39 minutes of runtime. The episode is filled with gorgeous scenery and ends up being quite interesting as it doesn’t have any of our protagonists. The main focus in this is on Harmony Cobel as she drives to her hometown and former Lumon industrial factory, Salt’s Neck.
Viewers are given a glimpse into Harmony’s childhood and personal life along with her beginnings at Lumon. This episode introduces some new characters from her life and leads to a major reveal about how the corporation stole all her ideas to create the company that it is today.

Attila
“We Used To Call Each Other Hon”
Episode 6, Attila, builds up on the scenes from Trojan Horse as Mark’s innie and Helly R end up facing an ugly truth. To repair their relationship, they create their own intimate memories that feel just as authentic as the ones that got stolen. Meanwhile, another complicated incident takes place as Dylan’s Innie develops feelings for his Outie’s wife and shares a kiss with her.
The episode also ends up focusing heavily on the dinner meeting between Outie Irving, Outie Burt and his husband, Fields. This is a very sad and cruel scene for Fields as he has to face his husband’s intimate Lumon partner in person.

The After Hours
“Devour Feculence”
Despite being in the latter half of the season, The After Hours feels a bit underwhelming. This is mainly because it serves the purpose of a build-up towards the season finale. In this relatively short episode, the focus is mostly on the Outie characters. With his sister, Devon’s help, Mark finally gets some answers about his wife from season one’s antagonist, Harmony Cobel.
Meanwhile, the other plot points revolve around difficult relationships as Dylan’s Innie proposes to his Outie’s wife, Gretchen, only to get rejected. Outie Burt also meets up with Outie Irving to help him escape the clutches of Lumon and send him away for good.

Goodbye, Mrs. Selvig
“Do You Know Something About Gemma?”
Episode 2, Goodbye Mrs. Selvig takes place right after the events of the Season one finale. Here, the Outie versions of the protagonists face some serious consequences as they are all fired by Lumon, except Mark. It is then that Outie Dylan tries to find a new job but suffers discrimination due to being a severed individual.
As for Outie Mark, he struggles with the decision to rejoin Lumon and refuses to believe in the small possibility of his wife being alive. The episode ends with the gang getting their jobs back and being reinstated in Lumon after Innie Mark’s protest. Lastly, Harmony Cobel drives away furiously from her home after being confronted by Outtie Mark.

Hello, Ms. Cobel
“It’s Not Our World Up There”
The first episode of the season opens with a fantastic cinematic sequence with Innie Mark as he runs across the hallways of Lumon to find Ms. Casey. However, he ends up bumping into his new colleagues in the MDR division. This doesn’t last long as Innie Mark’s plea and protest allow his friends to come back.
This episode sees the four Innie protagonists catch each other up on the incidents after the Season One finale. They are also treated with a fancy claymation video wherein the narrator explains the effects of their deeds. The Innies are given the choice to leave Lumon if they desire. Ultimately, they decide to stay to continue their search for Gemma.

Who Is Alive?
“You Mean, What Quarter?”
Episode three has multiple interesting and engaging plotlines going on. Innie Mark and Helly R (at the time) meet up with another department’s unusual employees to get information about Gemma. Meanwhile, Innie Irving goes on to reminisce about his lovely time with Innie Burt, whereas Innie Dylan gets to meet Outie’s wife.
Outside Lumon, the Outie Mark is greeted by the former Lumon employee, Reghabi, who informs him about another way to get information about Gemma’s whereabouts. She initiates a process of reintegration with him which eventually finds success. Outie Mark ends up getting a glimpse of his Innie’s interview session at Lumon.

Woe’s Hollow
“Helly Was Never Cruel”
Besides the finale, Woe’s Hollow is perhaps the most important episode of the season. The episode’s snowy setting feels refreshing as we get to see all the Innie protagonists outside together for the first time. They are taken on a field trip by Lumon and Milchick where they set up camp to learn the ways of Kier.
After a sour conversation with Helly R at the campfire, Innie Irving takes off into the woods. Later, Innie Mark and Helly R seize the opportunity to share a very intimate session to get to know each other better. Innie Irving is then greeted with a terrifying vision that leads to a big reveal. Unfortunately, revealing this vital piece of information to his friends also costs him his life.
2
Chikhai Bardo
“You Hate Writing Thank-You Notes”
Directed by the show’s cinematographer, Jessica Lee Gagné, Chikhai Bardo stands out throughout the entire season. The episode’s unique storytelling and expertly editing make it the most memorable one of the lot.

Whatever you do, do not look up the Byford Dolphin incident.
This is mainly a flashback episode where viewers finally get to see the life of Gemma and Mark leading up to her supposed death. It almost feels like looking at an alternate version of them as they live their normal but happy lives. We also finally get to see what Gemma has been going through inside Lumon and what she has had to suffer through.

Cold Harbor
“In the Windmills Of Your Mind”
Season 2’s finale, Cold Harbor, lives up to astronomical expectations. There are so many things that happen in this 75-minute episode. Both Marks finally have a proper conversation, Lumon hiring a band to celebrate the completion of Cold Harbor, the beginning of an Innie revolution and, lastly, the long-awaited reunion of Outie Mark and Gemma.
Just like Season One’s finale, this episode also leaves viewers with the most devastating cliffhanger. After rescuing Gemma from captivity, Innie Mark decides to stay at Lumon with the love of his life, Helly R and runs back inside the hallway. The sequence is accompanied by the beautiful song, “Windmills of Your Mind” and gives the season a perfect nostalgic freeze-frame ending. After that, everyone is already very excited about the Season 3 release.
