Summary

  • Sung Jinwoo defeats the Ant King on Jeju Island.
  • Cha Hae-in’s serious condition poses a challenge.
  • Sung Jinwoo’s victory solidifies him as a hero.

Solo Leveling Episode 24 was everything that fans had dreamed of. It was fully focused on Sung Jinwoo as he traveled to Jeju Island to rescue the Hunters from certain death. In the previous episode, his Shadows had saved the lives of the Hunters after the broadcast helped him to learn that they were being hunted by the Ant King.

When Sung Jinwoo reached the island, he used his potion to heal the Korean Hunters, and it worked on almost everyone save for Cha Hae-in. When the hero tried using the potion on her, a notification appeared informing him of the failure. The system revealed that Cha Hae-in’s condition was too serious, so she could not be healed with the potion. Sung Jinwoo tried using the Elixir of Life, but that failed as well. Before he could find a way to save her, the Ant King appeared inside the colony.

Sung Jinwoo Vs. The Ant King

The Hunter Faced His Biggest Challenge

Both of them walked towards each other as they prepared to go all out. At first, it seemed that the Ant King would crush Sung Jinwoo with its physical strength, but the latter proved why he’s probably Korea’s biggest weapon. Not only did Sung Jinwoo withstand a punch easily, but he also delivered a far more potent strike to the enemy’s body. The sheer strength of the attack surprised the bystanders and the Ant King. Next, the creature decided to use its speed to get the better of Sung Jinwoo. Once again, the Hunter proved to be an equal match. He was able to keep up with the Ant King and even landed several hits.

Seeing Sung Jinwoo’s physical abilities, the Ant King started feeling anxious, so it used a new transformation. The design was outstanding, but more importantly, it gave the Ant King new tools to handle the Hunter. Its arms now had sharp claws that could effortlessly tear through human flesh. Sung Jinwoo realized that he could no longer use his hands to fight, so he summoned the Demon Monarch’s Dagger. Then he increased his mutilation skill to the max, allowing him to pierce the tough exoskeleton of the Ant King.

Despite the transformation, the Ant King could not damage Sung Jinwoo seriously. As the fight dragged on, it was quite clear that there was only going to be one winner. Fearing for its life, the Ant King tried to run away, but Sung Jinwoo was able to stop the enemy mid-way. The creature tried to escape again, but the hero wouldn’t let him. Ultimately, Sung Jinwoo mutilated the Ant King with the dagger, ending his short reign of terror. After seeing the Ant King getting mauled, the remaining ants scurried away. Sung Jinwoo emerged the victor, meaning he conquered an S-rank gate by himself.

Sung Jinwoo Still Needs To Rescue Cha Hae-in

The Hero Faces A Race Against Time

Sung Jinwoo may have eliminated the Ant King, but there’s still work to be done. His biggest concern will be saving Cha Hae-in from certain death. He has exhausted the Shadow Exchange ability, and getting to the mainland will take a lot of time.

At the moment, it seems that Cha Hae-in will die on Jeju Island, unless a miracle happens. It seems that Sung Jinwoo will have to rely on the System’s help to rescue Cha Hae-in. He has already tried using potions, but they haven’t worked. However, the System still has untapped secrets, and learning even one could make the difference. Of course, Sung Jinwoo wouldn’t have had to look for options if Min Byung-gyu had been alive, as he could have used his healing powers to help Cha Hae-in. Unfortunately, he was ruthlessly slaughtered by the Ant King.

Once the situation has been dealt with, the Hunters will be free to go back to the mainland, where they will be welcomed as heroes. While it is true that Sung Jinwoo handled the Ant King on his own, the rest were successful in taking down the Queen Ant. By eliminating the Queen Ant, they ensured that no more ants would be born.
