It has been heavily rumored for a very long time that The Lord of the Rings would be getting a third Lego set in as many years in 2025, and finally, those rumors have been confirmed. Not only have they been confirmed, but a set depicting part of The Shire will be available to buy as soon as next week.
That a Lego version of The Shire would be The Lord of the Rings‘ next set has been Lego’s worst-kept secret of 2025. There have been images out there for a while and suggestions of what the set might look like even longer. It’s nice to have confirmation finally, especially since this will be the cheapest Lord of the Rings set by quite some way during its current era of Lego sets.

The Shire set will cost $269.99 when it releases exclusively at the Lego store on April 5, 2025. No, that’s not exactly cheap, but it’s almost half the price of the $500 Rivendell set, and $190 cheaper than last year’s Barad-dur set. That’s because The Shire set is considerably smaller than its Barad-dur and Rivendell counterparts, but it will still be a challenging build with more than 2,000 bricks needed to complete it.
Lego Has Finally Revealed Its Next The Lord Of The Rings Set
Visit A Toy Brick Shire From April 5
The set specifically appears to be a Lego recreation of Bag End, the Hobbit-hole that Bilbo Baggins calls home. It’s also a toy brick snapshot taken on Bilbo’s birthday as the set includes a Minifigure version of the Hobbit who is pictured standing under a birthday banner in the promo material. There are nine Minifigures included in the set, so only one fewer than what you get with the Barad-dur set.
The rumors that Lego’s Shire set will also come with a free gift with purchase for a limited time were also true. A 181-piece Smeagol and Deagol set will be included with your purchase when you buy the new Lord of the Rings set. A similar deal to the Fellbeast set that came free with Barad-dur, but how long the deal will be available hasn’t been revealed.

The Lord of the Rings: The Shire
The Shire is joining the Lord of the Rings locations that have been immortalized as Lego sets. Made up of 2,017 pieces, the set is a recreation of Bag End, Bilbo Baggins’ home, and includes nine Minifigures based on Bilbo, Gandalf, and other characters from The Lord of the Rings.
Despite this big reveal, one Lord of the Rings Lego mystery remains unsolved. Even though Lego has been releasing one Lord of the Rings set per year, there have been rumblings that a second set modeled after Gandalf’s battle with a Balrog is coming soon. If accurate, the set will kick off a new Lego range of products that are designed to sit neatly on your bookshelf once complete.
