How To Obtain A Laboratory Table In Core Keeper

You’ll be doing a lot of mining as you progress in Core Keeper, whether it’s taking down dirt blocks to get some copper ores at the very beginning of the game or mining out late-game ores from crystalline biomes. There are plenty of pickaxes to get, or sledgehammers for wide-scale wall breaking, but if you want to mine out a huge area, you may want some bombs.

There are several livestock creatures that you can find in Core Keeper, referred to as cattle. Here, you can learn how to find them all.

Bombs and grenades both allow you to throw down multiple at a time across a massive area, and have them all detonate one after the other to get plenty of ores, or you could have certain types linked by electronic wires to clear out space for a new build. Some are even great for taking out enemies.

How To Craft Bombs

Player character standing next to a wild Bomb Pepper in the Underground in Core Keeper.

To craft the first tier of Bombs, you’ll need to make an Alchemy Table first, and this becomes available to craft as soon as you have a Tin Workbench, and is crafted with eight Wood, eight Slime, and five Tin Bars.

When placed, it gives you access to low-tier Potions, low-tier Grenades, and low-tier Bombs, which are primarily made from Bomb Peppers, a common cooking ingredient and material found in The Undergrounds and the Clay Cave biomes.

Bombs and Grenades can also be obtained from Chests, Wooden Crates, Fishing, and occasionally dropped by some enemies, such as Bomb Scarabs.

The mid-tier Bombs are more specialized, and require the Laboratory Table to be made. The Laboratory Table is crafted at a Scarlet Workbench or better, and needs 15 Planks and 10 Scarlet Bars.

Low-Tier Bombs And Grenades

Player character using a Laboratory Table and looking at the low tier bombs like Dynamite Pack in Core Keeper.

Most low-tier Bombs and Grenades can be set down or thrown, and will explode a few seconds after use, but for the Dynamite Pack and Explosives Deposit, they’re placed down but only explode when struck or when wired to and triggered via Lever or Pressure Plate.

Grenades also damage blocks and structures like Bombs, but all have the Wind-Up Throw skill, which makes them a better choice when using them against enemies and bosses.
