How To Find Every Bunker In Atomfall

How To Find Every Bunker In Atomfall

Atomfall starts in a bunker; specifically, Bunker L8 in the Quarantine Zone. When you emerge to explore the rest of this vast walled-off region, you’ll find that there are several others to discover and delve.

Money is no good in the Quarantine Zone, so it’s back to the barter system.

Bunkers are the remnants of the British Atomic Research Division (BARD)’s research facilities in the area, and as such you can find high-tech gear inside them. From supplies in locked storerooms to Training Serum to learn new skills with, there’s always a reason to check out a bunker when you find it… even if there’s also a bit of risk involved as well.

Slatten Dale Bunkers

a fork in the road with a phone box, and the wyndscale atom plant in the distance, at the beginning of atomfall.

There are several bunkers hidden throughout Slatten Dale, including the one that you started in. They’re a great way to build up your inventory early, though they aren’t without danger.

Bunker L8

The starting bunker has several doors that can be unlocked once you have the Signal Redirector. It also has a buried cache that you can uncover with the Metal Detector, so it’s worth returning to once you have each of these tools.

It’s located at 24.3E, 71.0N.

Bunker L7

L7 is just east of the starting bunker, atop the ruined bridge. It’s a good place to store early goods, since it’s the nearest Pneumatic Storage Tube. The left-hand room has a BARD Crate with Training Serum, but it’s guarded by a Feral. Get the Rusty Shotgun from the ruins across the road from Nat Buckshaw’s house to make quick work of the creature.

Bunker L7’s coordinates are 27.7E, 71.9N.

Bunker L6

L6 is Slatten Dale’s largest bunker, but it’s crawling with Ferals. Don’t go in without a good melee weapon like a Farming Knife, plenty of Bandages, and ammunition. Try to stay as quiet as possible when moving around.

Remember, any gunfire or explosions will likely attract nearby Ferals besides the one you’re trying to fend off.

Bunker L6 is west of the Railyard, at 26.5E, 77.1N

Concrete Bunker

The Concrete Bunker at 24.7E, 78.2N is actually an entrance to the Sewer Tunnels. You can buy the key from Molly in her camp to the northeast.

Interchange Entrance

Slatten Dale’s Interchange Entrance is at 31.0E, 77.8N. Its proximity to your starting location makes it the easiest entrance to reach if you’re going for a speedrun.

Wyndham Village Bunkers

The Village doesn’t have any bunkers in the strictest sense, besides its Interchange entrance, but there are some cellars and basements that you should certainly explore while you’re in the area.

Brewery Cellar

The abandoned brewery can be accessed from the cellar door at 30.5E, 80.5N. The easiest way to get there is by the hidden entrance from the Sewer Tunnels, or you can climb the hill behind the Mereview Hotel.

Besides having loads of alcohol to use for crafting Bandages and Molotovs, poking around the Brewery will also lead you to notes tying Morris to the druids and Maisie’s murder.

Church Basement

The church at 33.0E, 78.8N has many secrets, including a locked door in its cellar. You’ll need a key to open it, which requires a trip to the Interchange Medical Facility.

Interchange Entrance

Wyndham’s Interchange entrance is behind the church, at 33.8E, 78.3N. There are usually guards posted, so be careful as you approach or get on Captain Sims’ good side first; otherwise, you’ll have to fight your way in.

Atomfall: How To Get The Castle Grounds Hut Key

The hut next to the castle entrance in Atomfall has some valuable loot, but you’ll need to explore Casterfell Woods to find the key.

Casterfell Woods Bunkers

a head-on view of casterfell dam in atomfall.

Most of the bunkers in Casterfell are on the north side of the map, near the dam.

Bunker L9

Like L6, Bunker L9 has a lot of Ferals to deal with. However, it has a more open central area that you can use to your advantage. The office above the entrance is filled with toxic gas; either use a Signal Redirector to activate the vents, or drink an Antidote to walk through the cloud and get the backpack on the catwalk. You’ll be rewarded with a recipe for Combat Stims, which are extremely useful against Thralls later in the game.

Bunker L9’s coordinates are 23.3E, 90.6N.

Dam Data Store

The Dam Data Store is patrolled by a dangerous flamethrower robot. Make sure you have Burn Salve at the ready before trying to enter.

There are a good amount of supplies to loot here, but the real prize is only available if you can get Doctor Garrow’s keycard and are on good terms with Joyce Tanner.

Remote Bunker

This forgotten bunker in a hidden corner of the map is out of the way, so you’re unlikely to find it unless you’re looking for it. It’s located behind the Garden Centre, so you’ll have to evade druids and hornet nests to reach it.

Joyce Tanner lives here, until you power up Data Store Charlie at the Interchange; at that point, she’ll move there if she’s still alive. The coordinates to the Remote Bunker are 28.0E, 91.6N.

Interchange Entrance

Casterfell’s Interchange Entrance, unlike the other bunkers, is at the southeast end of the map, near the gate to Wyndham Village. It’s unguarded, unless you are unlucky enough to be there at the same time as a passing druid patrol.

Its coordinates are 27.6E, 83.6N.

Skethermoor

a pair of raf helicopters seen from below at the beginning of atomfall.

Skethermoor’s bunkers are all filled with soldiers, most of whom have guns. Some will have armor as well, and they’ll all come to investigate at the first sign of trouble. Be fully prepared before attempting to infiltrate any of these locations.

Protocol Workshop Bunker

The Workshop Bunker is reasonably close to the Wyndham Village gate, and the leads from The Little Tea Room and The Windfall Shipment both take you here. If you’re going to hit the Skethermoor Bunkers, this is the first one you should try.

Use the vents in the center of the bunker to reach a hidden room where the Safe Room Key is located. This will open the locked door on the right-hand side, letting you get lots of supplies and the Windfall Key, which is used at the Field Station (see below).

The Workshop’s coordinates are 38.0E, 77.4N.

Vehicle Storage Bunker

This bunker has been taken over by Outlaws, whose security is much more lax than Protocol soldiers. Try tossing a grenade into the main room before anyone knows you’re there to get the drop on the enemies.

The bunk room has a key that leads opens the storage room, where you can get an Atomic Battery. Be sure to get the recipe for Radiation Resistance from upstairs and mix up a batch before going into the storeroom, though, or you’ll take lots of damage from the exposed isotopes on the floor.

The Vehicle Bunker can be found at 43.4E, 74.6N

Protocol Field Station

The Field Station is guarded by a soldier with an assault rifle, and he has allies patrolling nearby, including a machine gun robot. Besides Training Stimulants – this bunker has several – the main reason to come here is to use the Windfall Key to get a Signal Redirector if you don’t already have one. If you’re just here for the Signal Redirector, it’s fairly close to the entrance, so you might want to consider just getting in and getting out to minimize your risk.

The Protocol Field Station is located at 41.3E, 74.9N.

Skethermoor Prison

Skethermoor Prison is heavily guarded by turrets, soldiers, and robots. Worse, breaking in and freeing the prisoners will permanently brand you an enemy of the Protocol, and the soliders in Wyndham Village will attack you on sight. Only come here if you plan to rescue Doctor Garrow.

Interchange Entrance

The Skethermoor Interchange Entrance is in the center of the large Protocol Camp on the southern half of the map. No matter which way you approach, you’ll have to deal with dozens of soldiers and at least one robot, to say nothing of turrets. Unless you have a very good reason, it’s probably better to find a different way into the Interchange.
