2025 is shaping up to be an excellent year for Black Butler fans. After recent updates regarding the anime’s next arc, it is confirmed that the manga is set to return from its indefinite hiatus.

The Black Butler manga went on a break in 2024, and for several months, there were no updates about its return. However, it didn’t matter much to the fans, as they knew Yana Toboso deserved the break after working for decades on the manga. After patiently waiting for a while, fans finally received a positive update regarding the manga. The Black Butler manga is set to return on April 18, 2025.

Black Butler Emerald Witch Arc Has Been Announced

Black Butler’s Emerald Witch arc will start airing on April 5, 2025, just over a week before the manga’s return. The anime also shared a new trailer featuring multiple characters who will have key roles to play in the upcoming season.

Most of Black Butler’s original voice cast will return for the Emerald Witch arc. This means fans can expect to hear familiar voices in the anime.

The Emerald Witch arc is the eighth story arc in the series. In the arc, Ciel Phantomhive and Sebastian Michaelis are sent to investigate mysterious deaths occurring in a village. The premise is certainly interesting, and fans expect to see many secrets being unraveled by the duo.

Black Butler’s anime adaptation was announced in July 2008, and the first season premiered in October of the same year. A second season was teased in 2009, and it aired in 2010.
