Despite the weight of the world on its shoulders, Assassin’s Creed Shadows is a great entry in the series with one of its best worlds to date.
Despite the discourse about Yasuke’s origins and a flurry of social media outrage over everyday open-world video game glitches, many consider Shadows to be one of the best games in the series. With all that settled, it’s time to ask the real question – who would win in a fight, the unstoppable samurai or the deadly ninja?
Naoe And Yasuke Actors Agree On Who Would Win In A Fight
In a promotional video by Ubisoft, actors Masumi and Tongayi Chirisa asked each other questions about their respective characters. Topics included their backgrounds and motivations among other things. However, things got real when Chirisa asked Masumi “Who wins in a fight between Yasuke and Naoe?”
“This one we need to say at the same time,” replied Masumi, and after a countdown both answered Naoe in unison. After a quick fistbump, the Naoe actor asked “How did you know?” To which Chirisa replied, “You’re a ninja. You could be right here and I’ll never know,” while gesturing to his neck. “Especially with that big a** helmet of mine, you could just snap me [from] miles away, like you’re throwing something at me,” he explained.
It seems that the two not only share chemistry in the game, but in real life too. Yasuke may be unstoppable in face-to-face combat, but Naoe’s stealth and efficiency could neutralise his strength before the fight would even start. As all Assassin’s Creed fans know, stealth trumps strength, and Naoe, in her own actor’s words, is “in the shadows.”
With the successful launch of Assassin’s Creed Shadows, Ubisoft can breathe a sigh of relief after the back-to-back high profile failures of Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora and Star Wars Outaws.
“This weekend, many of us on the Dev Team spent time reading your reactions across the Assassin’s Creed subreddit – and we just want to say thank you,” said a message by the devs. “The sheer amount of love and positivity we’ve received has been incredibly heartwarming.”
