Assassin’s Creed Shadows takes a decidedly different approach to side quests than the previous RPG entries in the series. As you make your way through the game, you’ll encounter various criminal organizations with several members. Yasuke and Naoe will have to track down each member of the organization, earning rewards for defeating each member, as well as for completing the quest as a whole. “The Yokai” is one such quest, providing the player with clues to help locate six “Yokai” around the map. In this guide, we’ll show you where to find all six Yokai in Assassin’s Creed Shadows.

How to Start “The Yokai“:

You can begin this quest by speaking to Mamushi at the Hills of Meaning POI, in Yamashiro. We discovered this quest through a rumor which was learned after helping a NPC in trouble during a random encounter. However, if you know Mamushi’s location in Yamashiro, you can visit him at any time to start the quest.

You’ll find Daitengu at the Arima Onsen, a group of hot springs northeast of the Kakogawa Estuary in Harmia. You’ll see him practicing his sword forms on a riverbank. Make sure to grab the Legendary Chest just north of Daitengu’s small camp.

You’ll find the Kappa in the Haunted Tatarigami Village, in the Genbu Highlands province of Yamashiro. The Kappa will only come out at night, near the stream to the east of the haunted village. Make sure not to attack the Kappa, as they are actually starving children. Instead, follow them back to the thieves’ camp and speak to them.

How to Complete The Yokai – Ao Andon:

Once you’ve defeated all six Yokai, you’ll need to return to Mamushi at the Nyoiji Dyiji Temple in the Hills of Meaning. Upon arrival, Naoe will be greeted by one final enemy: Ao Andon. I’ll avoid spoiling how this plays out, but it is important to know that you’ll face one more boss before the end of the mission.

The Yokai FInal Rewards:

After defeating Ao Ando, you’ll receive the following rewards:

  • Critical Chance With Backstab – Engraving
  • Melon Cart – Outdoor Cosmetic
  • 7000 XP
