This article contains spoilers for One Piece’s Final Saga.
Summary
- The Seraphim, the World Government’s new weapon, are likely to be involved in One Piece’s final war.
- Blackbeard may use the Seraphim to his advantage by intercepting the command chain.
- Fans speculate that King from the Beast Pirates may sway the Seraphim to fight against the World Government.
One Piece is quickly approaching its climax, and many fans are wondering which characters will be necessary to the final battles of the story, and which characters will be forced to take a back seat. With so many memorable and meaningful characters that have appeared throughout the series, it’s going to be nearly impossible to give every character the spotlight that they deserve. Due to this, fans have started speculating which characters may help the Straw Hats or World Government in the upcoming final conflict, and preparing themselves for the eventual disappointment when these characters are not a part of One Piece’s climax.
One such group of characters that many fans may be a part of the final war of One Piece is the Seraphim. Being the newest secret weapon of the World Government, although many fans are almost certain the Seraphim will be in One Piece’s Final Battle, not every fan agrees on what capacity the living weapons will appear. Whether this involves fighting on the side of the World Government or defecting to the side of the pirates remains to be seen.

The Seraphim Are The New Line Of One Piece’s Pacisfista
These Clones Were Designed To Replace The Seven Warlords
In One Piece, after the original Pacifista started to become obsolete and the Warlords of the Sea became increasingly difficult to handle, the World Government tasked Vegapunk with creating a solution to both of these issues. From here, Vegapunk developed a new group of Pacifista, known as One Piece’s Seraphim, which are fundamentally clones of the original Warlords of the Sea. Interestingly, outside of being young versions of the Warlords, Vegapunk was also able to outfit these creations with both King’s Lunarian DNA, giving them the race’s fire-based benefits, and simulated Devil Fruits through the creation, Green Blood.

From here, these very powerful fighters are controlled directly by the World Government, specifically the Five Elders, who are at the top of their chain of command, and are being used as a replacement to the Warlords in the Three Great Powers system. Although these Seraphim were a major factor in the Egghead Arc in One Piece, they were eventually defeated and placed into Seastone Bubbles. Although they were soon recovered by the World Government, the Seraphim, at this point in the story, were being charged, and were sent away from Egghead.

- Blackbeard Could use THem To His Advantage
Although they haven’t appeared in the story since, being a replacement for the Warlords, many fans are almost certain the Seraphim will make an appearance in One Piece’s Final War. Firstly, and the simplest explanation for how they will be involved, the Seraphim could fight for the World Government in a similar capacity to the Warlords in the Paramount War. However, this time, instead of figures like Hancock and Jinbe betraying the World Government and acting on their own, these characters would lack the free will to work against the World Government and would simply act as one of their main forces.

Fans have always wondered who Luffy’s mother is. The answer might be clearer than some think.
On the other hand, with Blackbeard using Devon to capture the visage of one of the Five Elders in One Piece, it seems likely that, with the Five Elders being at the top of the command chain for the Seraphim, Blackbeard could use Devon to take control of the Seraphim. From here, the Seraphim may join the battle under Blackbeard’s side, potentially leading to them fighting against both Luffy and the World Government. Although it doesn’t seem like the Seraphim would stay under his control for long, this may be a small step in Blackbeard’s complex plan.

Lastly, some fans believe that, during the final battles of One Piece, King from the Beast Pirates will make his triumphant return to the story. When he returns, these fans believe that King will explain the heritage of Lunarians to the Seraphim, potentially converting them to the side of the pirates. From here, the Seraphim could become their own independent force, fighting back against the World Government.

However, no matter the capacity, it seems likely the Seraphim and Pacifista in One Piece will take part in the final war. If they don’t, the whole group would feel like a wasted opportunity. With interesting designs and lore implications, hopefully, the Seraphim are given another chance to shine in the final battles of One Piece.
