The story of Assassin’s Creed Shadows has lots of ups and downs, but things start rolling after the players unlock both Naoe and Yasuke as playable characters beyond the opening quests. This is where the game lives up to its full potential, and the entry gate to this part is a quest from Tomiko: Friend of My Enemy.
This is a simple quest that does not really require players to get involved in combat unless they want to, but it requires Naoe to search the houses located in a castle one by one to find someone named Mitsuhide, which could be quite time-consuming, especially if you are under-leveled and can’t keep yourself hidden from the enemies.

Where To Meet Mitsuhide
Friend of My Enemy is a quest that can be tracked from Tomiko’s circle in the Objectives panel. After talking to Tomiko in the hideout, Naoe will be tasked to meet Mitsuhide in Katano Castle, which is located northwest of the hideout. The location of the castle is shown on the map above. It’s big enough that it cannot be missed.
After entering the castle, head to the building marked in the image above. Mitsuhide is sitting inside the marked house. Keep in mind that it has one entrance, and you will need to open three doors to find the room where Mitsuhide is located finally. There are a few unarmed men inside the room, but they will not oppose a threat to Naoe.
Keep in mind that the castle is well-guarded by soldiers of Level 9 or 10. Naoe can follow the rooftops to keep herself hidden and avoid any fights, but there are many great opportunities for one-hit assassinations in this castle to gain some more XP points.
Speak With Mitsuhide
Naoe will talk to Mitsuhide, and they will agree on a plan. No spoilers here, so that you can find out the plan’s details yourself. Naoe will have a few dialogue choices while speaking to Mitsuhide, but none of them are crucial moments, and they will not change the result of the quest. The cutscene will reveal some more information about The Onryo, and it will also change some details about it on the objectives board.
Once the conversation is over, the quest will come to an end, unlocking a new quest in Kyoto, Yamashiro. This is where the plan will be executed. Players will need to track this one through the map, as it will no longer be available through Tomiko’s circle on the objective board.
Completing the following quests after Friend of My Enemy will eventually let the players unlock Yasuke, and actually allow them to switch between both playable characters freely.
