By now, the official Special Program livestream for Genshin Impact’s version 5.5 update has already given fans a preview of what’s to come in this update. However, these official reveals don’t always showcase every single feature that will be coming in Genshin Impact’s future updates. New Natlan Sub-Region Great Volcano of Tollan

Another new sub-region for Natlan has been officially revealed for Genshin Impact, the Great Volcano of Tollan. With the Collective of Plenty tribe finally being introduced in the Great Volcano of Tollan sub-region, players can expect a new variety of Saurian companions and playable characters with new Natlan phlogiston abilities to be able to traverse the environment and interact with new puzzle mechanics throughout this new sub-region. According to leaks from KazusaLeaks reported by Sportskeeda, there will also be three new Local Legends bosses coming to Genshin Impact throughout the Volcano of Tollan sub-region.

Version 5.5 Events

The flagship event for the version 5.5 update will be the Tournament of Glory and Bloom, which will task players with completing various combat trials and a puzzle mini-game. This update will also introduce the first-ever Artifact Overflow event, Overflowing Favor. Beyond this, there will be a standard variety of mini-games, a competitive multiplayer event, and combat events throughout the version 5.5 update.

New Version 5.5 Characters and Signature Weapon

Varesa is a new five-star Electro Catalyst character, who players will be able to obtain during the 5.5 phase one Event Wish Banner. Players will also get a chance to meet Varesa during her new Tribal Chronicle quests coming in this update. Varesa’s ability kit features long combos of plunging attacks and personal damage buffs. According to leaks from Narc1ssus, Varesa’s five-star signature weapon, Vivid Notions, is said to provide temporary attack and crit damage boosts for plunging attacks.

Another new character who will be available in the phase one Event Wish Banners during the version 5.5 update is Iansan, a four-star Electro Polearm character. Iansan’s ability kit will feature attack buffs and healing abilities, and she is expected to be a top-tier support character for Natlan team compositions in Genshin Impact.

New Version 5.5 Artifact Sets

While the effects of the two new Artifact sets coming in version 5.5 have yet to be officially revealed, there are already credible leaks about these new Artifact sets. According to further leaks from Narc1ssus, the Long Night’s Oath set will provide plunging attack damage buffs from the two-piece set bonus, and further plunging attack buffs from the four-piece set bonus. Overall, this set will be well-suited for Varesa, whose kit revolves around long combos of plunging attacks, though this Artifact set will also be a good fit for characters like Gaming, Xiao, and Xianyun.

For the Finale of the Deep Galleries Artifact Set, the leaks by Narc1ssus also claim that this set will provide Cryo damage buffs from the two-piece set bonus, while the four-piece set bonus will provide normal attack and Elemental Skill damage buffs while the equipped character has zero Energy. Many players have speculated that the strange four-piece bonus of this Artifact set could be designed specifically for Skirk’s anticipated release in Genshin Impact, currently predicted for either the version 5.6 or 5.7 update.

Total Primogem Count

Ahead of the version 5.5 update, leaks from Hiragara have revealed the total Primogem count for version 5.5 to be around 12,875 for free-to-play players. Since some of these free Primogems rewards in Genshin Impact will only be available for a limited time throughout the version 5.5 update, either from events, or early quest and exploration incentives, players won’t want to hold off on exploring this new update.
