Befriending and building relationships with Disney characters like Mickey Mouse and Tiana is a massive part of Disney Dreamlight Valley. All of them are people that your character used to know before The Forgetting, and as you complete their quests, you might find more than just lost memories and rewards.

Some of the things you experienced, either alone or with these characters, were so powerful that they became enchanted with Dreamlight Magic, and became more than a simple object or memory. You’ve found one so far, and whenever there’s unknown magic afoot, it’s best to go ahead and consult an expert like Merlin.
Mementos are speculated to be part of a future series of quests within the in-game dialogue, so the content below may be subject to change or be updated in the future.
How To Unlock The Memento
To get this special quest, you’ll need to meet quite a few requirements. You’ll need to unlock the Aladdin Realm for 15,000 Dreamlight, and complete all the quests within to bring Jasmine to the valley.
All of Jasmine’s Friendship Quests also need to be completed: The Enchanted Flower, A Sandy Competition, Hot And Cold, and Wild, Wild Wishes. This also means meeting the prerequisites for her Friendship quests:
Quest |
Prerequisites |
---|---|
The Enchanted Flower |
Reach Friendship Level two with Jasmine. Bring Aladdin back to the valley. |
A Sandy Competition |
Reach Friendship Level four with Jasmine. Unlock Moana. Unlock Maui. Unlock the Glade of Trust for 3,000 Dreamlight. Unlock Mother Gothel and complete her Friendship level two quest. |
Hot And Cold |
Reach Friendship Level seven with Jasmine. Unlock Elsa and complete her level three Friendship Quest. Unlock the Sunlit Plateau for 7,000 Dreamlight. |
Wild, Wild Wishes |
Reach Friendship Level ten with Jasmine. Unlock Mike Wazowski. Unlock Belle. Unlock Mulan and complete her level two Friendship Quest. Unlock the Fairy Godmother and complete her level two Friendship Quest. |
Once everything on the list above is completed, one of your rewards for completing Wild, Wild Wishes will be the Secret Journal, which was part of most of the quest line, and getting it will activate The Memento quest.
What Are Mementos?
All you need to do for The Memento is go to Merlin and speak with him. That single conversation will complete the quest and let you keep the Secret Journal, but you’ll want to store it in a safe place like he said, such as a chest for quest-related items.
The Secret Journal is known as a Memento, an important item created from strong emotions that were locked away, and based on what Merlin says, it isn’t the only Memento in existence.
Due to this big hint, it’s possible that more Memento-related quests will be included in a future update, either as standalone quests or they may come from completing a character’s main series of Friendship Quests, like with Jasmine.
