Mudborne: How To Get More Storage

Whether earned, purchased, or taken, there are plenty of ways to expand your storage space.

By using your magnifying glass on key clues and items throughout Mudborne, you’ll unveil some helpful hints on what to do next, as well as keep track of the frog traits needed to open the Reflection Pools that lead you between the waking and dream worlds in Mudborne.

Your Scrapbook Tracks Lore And Important Goals

Regardless of which area of the map you’re exploring in Mudborne, there will be plenty to see and do – you’ve got mushrooms to cultivate, frogs to breed, and so much more going on at once. Thankfully, the Compendium is there to guide you along in Mudborne’s story, but if you’re looking for little hints along the way, the Scrapbook might just have what you need.

The Scrapbook is broken down by map, with each area having around a dozen different things for you to find there. At the top of the Scrapbook screen, which you can access by pressing the N button, you’ll see a total percentage of how many pieces for the Scrapbook you’ve found so far overall. When you enter any new area of the map, a recently unlocked building, or any map you’ve entered using a Reflection Pool to move between worlds, you’ll often see a magnifying glass icon above items around the room.

After you’ve viewed an item while exploring the worlds in Mudborne, you’ll log it into the Scrapbook automatically, where you can review your findings at any point. If something doesn’t make sense, or provides a clue you can’t act on yet, you can always revisit the piece after logging it.

The main items you’ll see with this icon are:

  • Maps, which log into your Atlas for easy consultation later on, showing the region at a glance to help you navigate.
  • Signs, whether hung on walls or from wooden sign boards, offering clues on the puzzles in the area.
  • Reflection Pools when you first approach them, and scanning them with your magnifying glass will log them into your Scrapbook with the genetic sequencing needed to open them. This is hugely helpful for helping to log which frogs you need to open which pools.
    • You’ll see hints towards which mushrooms to use to make the frog required, too – experiment with these powders in your magic mud recipe to create the frog you need.
  • Journals and lore items left behind by previous frogs from the local area.

Additionally, you’ll also be logging spaces for the different machine blueprints, since these often come with notes from the frogs who were here before you on tips for using their machinery. If you’re not quite sure how a blueprint works before you buy it from Ribbert, this is a good place to check.

Finally, you’ll also find a section at the very end of the Scrapbook labeled Miscellaneous. We won’t spoil too much for you, but these are the pieces that you find in the realms you reach through the Gateway Nexus portals. Check the portals that seem to lead to odd places while you’re exploring the Nexus – if there’s not a corresponding portal in the regular worlds, this may be an important place to check for Scrapbook clues.
