A power bank offers a great way to keep your Steam Deck, ROG Ally, or MSI Claw charged on the move, but few options can meet both the power output and longevity needed for long gaming sessions. The Starship Pro, however, comes equipped with a 10,000mAh battery and up to 140W single-port USB-C fast charging, or a maximum total output of 210W at any time.
Perfect for the best handheld gaming PC or best gaming laptop, the Starship Pro can meet the power demands of even the hungriest portables. This includes the 100W max charge rate of the Lenovo Legion Go and ROG Ally X, the 65W of the MSI Claw 8AI+, or the 45W of the Steam Deck.
For those unaware of how power banks such as the Starship Pro work, and aren’t sure how two 140W USB-C ports are equal to 210W for max charge, let us explain. The two 140W ports are capable of charging a device at the full 140W output individually, but when two devices are connected to the Starship Pro at the same time, smart power distribution splits up the power, and reduces the max overall output to 210W.

In real terms, this means I could still charge two 100W gaming handhelds at the same time with no issue, but if I wanted to charge a gaming laptop, which draws an entire 140W from one port, the available power from the secondary port is effectively capped at 70W, meaning the power made available for the handheld would be reduced. Where two power-hungry devices are connected at the same time, AOHi claims the Starship Pro will balance the power distribution to ensure some level of charge is entering both devices based on real-time demand.
As for the Starship Pro itself, as long as you’re using a 90W charger, manufacturer AOHi claims it can reach full capacity in just half an hour or 60% in 15 minutes. The dimensions given for the Starship Pro state it is 132mm tall and 45.6mm wide, meaning it’s technically pocket-sized, but might be better kept in a backpack if possible.
A real-time display helps keep track of outgoing and incoming power, meaning you can see exactly how the power distribution is being handled if you have multiple devices connected to the Starship Pro. Likewise, you can ensure it’s getting the full charge from your outlet by monitoring the incoming charge to the power bank.
The Starship Pro is still available to back via Kickstarter, with a single power bank costing $79, which will rise to $139 when it’s released at retail. Only a few units are left at this price though, so be quick if you want to secure yours.
This has all the makings of one of the best Steam Deck accessories but is ideal for any gaming handheld given its high power output. If you’ve just got your hands on Valve’s handheld for the first time, you can also check out the best Steam Deck games to play on the popular portable.
