LCK 2025 Regular Season Rounds 1-2 – Introduction

With First Stand ending, it’s time to turn the eyes back to the LCK. After an explosive LCK Cup full of surprises and several upsets, teams will be competing for the two spots at the upcoming Mid-Season Invitational.

Given the implementation of three international tournaments for the 2025 competitive season, the LCK made changes to its tournament format. The Korean league will no longer feature two separate splits but instead will have a season-long competition, with results from the LCK Rounds 1-2 having an impact on the seeding for Rounds 3-5, and thus Worlds qualification.

Format Explained

The 10 teams will be first competing in a double round robin with all matches being Best-of-three. After the success in the first part of the season, Riot Games decided to continue implementing the Fearless draft mode for the rest of the year, meaning it will also apply to all LACK matches.

At the end of the regular split, the top six teams will head to the Road to MSI phase, which sees them compete in a double elimination King of the Hill bracket. The top two will not only qualify for the Mid-Season Invitational but also for the Esports World Cup, which will take place later this summer in Riyadh.

Additionally, given Hanwha Life Esports’ win at First Stand, the two Korean representatives will both head to the bracket stage.
