The First Berserker: Khazan has tons of things for you to do, typically coming in the form of missions and bonus missions that will reward you plentifully upon completion. While you will naturally obtain new systems as you play through the main story, some aspects are locked behind bonus missions.

The Soulsborne series has influenced plenty of games, and here are some of the best indie games that took inspiration from them.
Kaleido is a perfect example of this, as it is a relatively short bonus mission that unlocks the ability of Gear Augmentation, allowing you to change the Random Attributes of your equipment and raise its level. It’s a crucial system, but it will only be yours if you tackle this bonus mission!
How To Complete Kaleido
The Blade Nexus will be directly in front of you as soon as the bonus mission starts. Activate it to have a checkpoint and spend your Lacrima if you have enough to level your Stats. From here, head down the stairs to see a series of Flame Traps and Specters in the distance.
Wait for the Flame Trap to rotate, having one of the plumes of fire pass you. As soon as the fire rotates past you, run behind it and match its pace until you reach the open section before the next trap. Once here, the Specters will be alerted to you. Use your Javelin to pick them off before moving on.
An item is to the far left of the next set of traps. Perform the same action on both the traps to get to the item, allowing you to snag x2 Fire Cleanse Potion. These will be extremely helpful later on in the level!
Continue Ahead
Next, return to the central area and follow the next set of traps toward the staircase. There will be two Specter Archers here, but you can’t stop due to the Flame Traps. Match the pace of the first Flame Trap like you did the others, then use your evade to dash through the second one.
If done correctly, you won’t receive any damage from the fire and will be directly in front of the Archers. Take them down swiftly, then proceed up the staircase. At the top of the stairs, turn right to find a corpse on the ground. Absorb it for some Lacrima and Soul Tear Dust!
Navigating The Silent Temple
Turn around and head to the left of the staircase to see another Specter in the distance. Use your Javelin to insta-kill them, then proceed forward. There will be a purple item on your left. Approach the item to have a pair of Specters break out from behind barricades for an ambush.
Defeat the Specters and grab the item for a Water Enhancer, then continue following the main path until it splits. On the left will be an open room, with the right leading to a staircase. You will want to go left here!
Left Pathway
Heading to the left will lead you to an open room with several Specter Zombies. As you may have remembered from previous missions, some will emerge from the ground as you begin killing off the others, so be prepared for that. Keep an eye on your Stamina, and you will be golden, as they have pretty little health.
Finish off the Specters and throw the Chest open for a Butcher’s Pauldrons, Butcher’s Leggings, Butcher’s Shoes, and x3 Transmutation Mist. From here, head back to the staircase and begin climbing your way up them!
Up The Staircase
Make your way up the staircase and onto the upper floor of the Silent Temple to find a handful of Specter Soldiers. Pick some off with your Javelin, then finish off the rest with ease. Next, start making your way to the end of the floor. Look to the left for a ladder, and take it down to the platform below.
Loot the item on the ground to obtain the Fallen Lord’s Scroll and an Augment of Wisdom. There will be another ladder on this platform. Interact with it to kick it down, creating a nice little shortcut for you if you happen to need it in the future.
Climb back up the ladder and onto the second floor and head toward the staircase straight in front of you. To the right will be a corpse. Absorb it to get a hefty amount of Lacrima and Soul Tear Dust!
The Final Stretch
Go down the staircase, following it into a sizable room with a patrolling Specter Knight. He has an enormous shield and spear, making him decently challenging. However, if you lure him toward you and bring him near the staircase, no other enemies in the room can interfere with you, allowing you to make quick work of him.
Reflecting the Specter’s attacks will drain its Stamina Gauge, allowing you to unleash your Skills for massive damage, making it your path to victory. After you defeat the Specter Knight, head to the left of the stairs you came down from, then take another sharp left to find an item in the back right corner. Loot it to obtain x2 Lightning Resistance Elixir and x3 Stone.
Walk a bit forward from the item until you reach a large stone column. Peek out to the right to see a Specter Archer. Use your Javelin to eliminate it. Then, look out to the left of the column to see another one on the stairs, and use your Javelin to defeat that one as well!
More Flame Traps And Treasure!
With all the enemies in the room defeated, you can safely climb the lone ladder in the room to the catwalk above. Once here, you will see a series of rotating Flame Traps. Since you have almost no room to move, these are a bit trickier to evade, even if they are handled the same as last time.
To get to the other side of the catwalk without taking damage, unlike us, you must time when you move from Flame Trap to Flame Trap, as you can’t rely on using your evade to cut through the flames since they’re far too close to one another. So, when matching your pace to the fire, switch off to the next one as soon as possible, then slowly follow that one out, and rinse and repeat until you’re home-free.
Two Chests will be waiting for you at the end. Let’s open the one on the right first to obtain the Imperial Soldier’s Dual Wield, Wanderer’s Leggings, Necklace of Resilience, and Earth Enhancer. Then, for the one on the left, open it and then run away from it as it is rigged with explosives! After it detonates, loot the item left behind for the Necklace of Protection and x25 Treated Gem!
Almost Done
If you have enough health, walk off the catwalk and then head up the stairs where the Specter Archers were. Once at the top, you will see a Blade Nexus. Phew. We made it. Rest at it to replenish your health and spend your Lacrima, then proceed toward the fog wall to finish this bonus mission!
Defeat The Specter Soldiers
On the other side of the fog wall are… two Specters. One is a Caster, and the other is a Knight. It’s not really a boss fight and not what we were anticipating in the slightest. But, hey, we’re not complaining. Focus on the Specter Caster first, as they are the squishiest and will be annoying at range.
Dropping the Caster will allow you to focus all your attention on the Knight, which will be handled the same as the one from earlier. Easy peasy. Once you defeat the Specter Knight, Oksana will appear near the back of the room. Speak with her and return to The Crevice to complete the bonus mission!
Augmentation Unlocked
Back at The Crevice, at last, now with the ability to use Gear Augmentation. This allows you to use resources to alter your equipment’s Random Attributes or merge equipment together to raise your Gear’s Level. This will be extremely useful the further you get in the game, so it’s best to unlock it now!
