What is Ball And Chain Booster in Monopoly GO?
The Ball & Chain booster is designed to disrupt your opponents during the Monopoly GO‘s Tycoon Racers event. Think of it as a strategic tool to slow down rival teams and give your own team an advantage. Unlike the Lucky Rocket’s personal speed boost, the Ball & Chain booster focuses on slowing down the progress of opposing players.
When the Ball & Chain booster is activated, you select a specific rival team to apply the effect to. The chosen team is then slowed down for a designated number of points. Essentially, they have to earn a certain number of points to “break free” from the effect. The slowdown persists until the affected team earns the required points to remove the Ball & Chain. A progress bar will visually indicate their progress.
Interestingly, if a team is already slowed down, being hit with another Ball & Chain will increase the duration of the effect. This shows that the Ball & Chain effect can be stacked. All teams within a given competition will experience the same Ball & Chain values (slowdown duration and break-free points), ensuring a level playing field in each race.
At the time of writing, the Ball and Chain booster is not yet available in all regions. Scopely has rolled out this booster to a few select regions to test it out. Therefore, if you don’t see it in your game yet, don’t worry; it’s probably just a matter of time. Just remember to keep your Monopoly GO app updated to get all the new features.
How To Get More Ball And Chain Boosters in Monopoly GO
Like the Lucky Rocket Booster in Monopoly GO, Ball and Chain boosters can only be obtained by completing laps during the races. As you and your team progress through the race, you’ll earn various rewards, and these rewards include the Ball & Chain booster. As such, if you want more of these boosters, you need to actively participate in the Tycoon Racers event and focus on completing laps around the board.
