Haikyuu has spawned many spin-off series, and one of them has just finished serialization. Haikyuu is one of the biggest Shonen Jump hits of the 2010-2020s, and fans are eager to know more news about the final saga of the series. Unfortunately, they will have to wait a little longer for news about the final movie.
Haikyuu-Bu!! is a refreshing spin-off that adds a lot to the series by showing characters that the manga don’t get as much focus in the original manga. And even though this was not the finale that fans were expecting, the series has now concluded the story.

Haikyuu-Bu!! Has Recently Ended
Spin-off Focused on Rival Schools
The final chapter of Haikyuu-Bu!! (Haikyu Club) came out yesterday (March 23, 2025), concluding the series, which had been running on Shonen Jump+ since 2019. The spin-off was written by Kyohei Miyajima, and not by the series’ creator, Haruichi Furudate. The final volume (Volume 14) will be released in Fall 2025.
Haikyu Club is a comedy series that focused on the rival schools (Aoba Johsai, Nekoma, Shiratorizawa and others). As the name suggests, it shows the opponents of Karasuno in their daily club activities at these schools.
When Will Haikyu The Final Movie 2 Be Out?
The final events of the manga will be adapted into two movies. The first one was released in 2024, titled Haikyu!! The Dumpster Battle. The second and final movie is titled Haikyu!! vs. The Little Giant, but, unfortunately, a release window has yet to be announced.
Fans expected that the production would drop a new trailer and more information about the movie at AnimeJapan 2025, but no news was released during the event. Recently, a spin-off anime was announced, focusing on the Fukurodani vs. Mujinazaka match in the Nationals.
Is Haikyuu’s Final Saga Too Rushed?
While Dumpster Battle was a box office success, many fans are displeased with the way the production team is handling the final saga of the series. The movie is too rushed and cuts out many parts of the manga, as there are too many chapters to cover.
For example, Hinata Shoyo goes to Brazil to train before the final matches, and there is a whole “Brazil arc” in the story. However, it seems that this part will not be adapted. This would be a good choice if Haikyuu was niche or a “mid” hit, but the series is one of the most successful sports and shonen anime of all time.
However, this may not be the end. If the movies are as successful as expected, or even more successful than expected, the production committee could greenlight a “side story” series covering the parts that have been skipped in the movies; something similar to Horimiya: The Missing Pieces.
Haikyuu is available to stream on Crunchyroll, subbed and dubbed in English.
