The Fortnite Festival game mode is switching out Item Shop Jam Tracks in favor of making more tracks available in its Spotlight menu, causing an uproar among fans. In December 2023, Epic Games added three major game modes to Fortnite: LEGO Fortnite (now known as LEGO Fortnite Odyssey), Fortnite Festival, and Rocket Racing. Fortnite Festival is a game mode very similar to Guitar Hero, and there is a selection of over 400 songs that gamers can try out while playing it.

While there are various original Jam Tracks, Fortnite Festival also includes songs from real-world artists. Players’ favorite artists have been brought to Fortnite via the game’s Music Pass, Jam Tracks, and emotes. A large portion of the Jam Tracks available in Fortnite are popular songs, which gamers can get in the Item Shop for 500 V-Bucks, or the equivalent of $4.50. However, it seems that from now on, it won’t be as easy for players to acquire their favorite songs as it was before.

A well-known leaker with a solid track record reveals the potential next concert artist set to be featured in Fortnite Festival.

The official Fortnite Festival Twitter account announced that the number of available Jam Tracks in the Item Shop would be significantly reduced, and new songs would no longer be added every Thursday. To balance this out, the developers also made sure to mention that players would have access to a much more extensive selection of spotlight Jam Tracks, indicating the Jam Tracks that can be played for free on a given day. However, many of the Fortnite Festival players in the community were displeased to learn that they wouldn’t have access to nearly 100 tracks every day.

Epic Games has always valued music and worked together with artists to bring them and their songs to the game. It all started with the Marshmello concert in Fortnite, which broke the concurrent player record at the time with a total of 8.3 million gamers joining in at the same time. Then, music made its way into the game more concretely with the release of Icon Series emotes. Finally, players got the Music Pass with a lineup of impressive artists, such as Lady Gaga and Eminem, along with hundreds of Jam Tracks. It’s little wonder some gamers aren’t happy that they can’t access their favorite songs at all times.
