Plenty of systems are at play in The First Berserker: Khazan, many of which are the things you’d expect from a soulslike, with others being a bit more hidden or out of the way, which can be easily missable if you don’t have a keen eye, such as Vengeance Points.

Not only are Vengeance Points used to give you tremendous buffs, but you can go a very long time in your playthrough before you even realize they’re a thing. How you obtain and spend them is tucked away in such a way you may overlook it completely, making it crucial you know what they are, how you obtain them, and what they can unlock!
What Are Vengeance Points?
Vengeance Points are a unique currency you earn when completing a Mission in The First Berserker: Khazan. This applies to both Main and Bonus Missions, so be sure to tackle any Mission that shows up if you want to obtain the most Vengeance Points possible during your playthrough.
While you technically get them for completing a Mission, you won’t actually obtain them until you view the Mission in a specific menu, where things can get tricky, as it is never explained to you in the game itself that Vengeance Points are a thing.
How To Claim Your Vengeance Points
Before you can claim your Vengeance Points, you must first reach The Crevice, the game’s hub world that becomes available after defeating the Blade Phantom. Once you’re here, you can finally begin obtaining your hard-earned Vengeance Points.
With The Crevice unlocked, every time you use a Blade Nexus, an option to view ‘Khazan’s Memories’ will be in the menu. Selecting this option will reveal every Mission you’ve accepted in the game, allowing you to see which ones you’ve completed.
Hovering over a completed Mission will grant you its corresponding Vengeance Point payout, which you can see in the upper right-hand corner of the Mission Card. So, activate a Blade Nexus whenever you finish a Mission and claim your Points, as they can be easy to forget about!
How To Spend Vengeance Points
When viewing Khazan’s Memories via the Blade Nexus, you can pull up a sub-menu by pressing Square/X, allowing you to allocate your Vengeance Points into three separate categories. These categories all focus on increasing your damage output in some way, which is extremely useful.
Upgrade |
Description |
---|---|
Stamina Damage Increase |
Enemies take more Damage to their Stamina Gauge. |
Damage Increase |
Increases your overall Damage output. |
Damage Multiplier Increase |
Raises your overall Damage Multiplier when dealing Damage to enemies. |
As you complete more Missions and begin upgrading these bonuses, they will require more and more Vengeance Points to upgrade but will drastically bump up the percentage they’re buffed by. Again, these upgrades will make a drastic difference, especially if you’re tackling every Bonus Mission available.
Despite being sort of hidden away and never mentioned or highlighted in the game, Vengeance Points can offer substantial results, so don’t forget about them as you’re progressing through the game for the first time. We recommend trying to upgrade everything here at least a few times over, as they will make some boss encounters a bit more manageable in the future!
