Destiny 2’s Hunters Are Still Missing a Key Piece of the Puzzle With One Build

Destiny 2 has many good builds for Hunters, from Prismatic to single elements, but one of them is still missing a huge feature.

One fan, an artist going by Special-Recipe-9392, displayed their love of the delisted EA Games shooter Titanfall with a new batch of concept art shared with the DestinyFashion Reddit community. Taking aesthetic cues from the world and technology of Titanfall and Titanfall 2, their art conceptualized “Titanfall-inspired” Titans, applying the unique armor and gear style to the Titan Guardian, the most heavily geared-out of Destiny‘s three player classes.

Destiny 2 Titanfall-inspired Concept Art Turns Titans Into Pilots

Special-Recipe-9392’s art consists of a series of five bespoke sets blending the armored style of a Destiny 2 Titan with the highly mobile tactical gear worn by the combatants in the Titanfall games. While many Destiny 2 Titan costumes evoke characters like the Dark Souls Onion Knight that wear full suits of plate and armor, the Titanfall-themed Titans wear sci-fi embellished tactical gear and ballistic plating. Straps, belts, webbing and gear harnesses cover most exposed surfaces, with matte plating covering critical parts of the wearer’s body. Even the more heavily armored-looking suits minimize bulk, as Titanfall characters also need high mobility to fulfill their role as the double-jumping Pilots of the Titan mech suits.

Fellow Destiny 2 fans praised Special-Recipe-9392 for the concept, calling on Bungie to get to work with EA on putting together a Titanfall crossover. Barring that, some players declared that they’d try to recreate looks similar to the art using existing Destiny 2 armor. A few commenters lamented the current state of the Titanfall franchise, which currently only exists as the backdrop of the Apex Legends setting.

The positive reaction to the Titanfall-themed fan art underscores the wide appeal and fan enthusiasm for Titanfall, despite the fact that the series is for all intents and purposes dormant. Perhaps with time or a cooling in support for Apex Legends, developer Respawn Entertainment could explore reviving the series for a new generation of hardware and players.
