Assassin’s Creed Shadows: Seashell Riddle Answer

Looking for the answer to the Seashell Riddle for the Old Lady? Here’s the solution for this random encounter in AC Shadows.

It is a short jumping puzzle that consists of using the grappling hook to balance between two different sections until reaching a small opening in a rock. Nothing too complicated, and if players fall, they can just keep trying until they manage to do it properly.

Once players reach the exact location at the end of The Secret Path, they will notice the spot that is extremely similar to the place where Tanjiro trained his Water Breathing technique in the earliest Arc of Demon Slayer. Next to the split rock, there’s a small chest with a cool Epic headgear: Sumire’s Hood, which adds 1 Extra Health Bar Segment Damage on Assassinations performed at night.

Split Rock Easter Egg Origin In Assassin’s Creed Shadows

The origin of this AC Shadows Easter Egg could also be a reference to the Itto-seki (Split Boulder) legend, where the legendary Yagyu Muneyoshi (founder of one of the most prestigious Kendo styles in Japanese history) is said to have defeated a powerful Tengu.

The creature was desolating the mountains surrounding the Yagyu village (located in the Nara prefecture, which also houses a famous Deer Park). The legend says Muneyoshi used his sword to split the heavens and the earth in two, cutting the Tengu in half and splitting the rock as the blade fell.

Nowadays, Ittoseki is a famous tourist spot, especially since lots of Cosplayers who are fans of Tanjiro visit the place to take some cool pictures posing as their favorite character in the series.

So there you have it, that’s the cultural origin of famous the Kimetsu no Yaiba (Demon Slayer) scene, and the most probable source of this particular Assassin’s Creed Shadows Easter Egg.
