The stats for Daredevil: Born Again proves that the character has a huge future within the MCU.
Marvel Studios Have Big Plans For Daredevil: Born Again Season Two
In season one of Daredevil: Born Again, the focus has been on developing Matt Murdock as a character both in and out of the suit. He’s been showcased and developed well, and it has been made clear that he has no problem dealing with any problems on his own. However, in the second season, he might not have to fight by himself. According to industry insider Daniel Richtman, Murdock will be assembling a team of heroes in season two to take on Kingpin’s Anti-Vigilante Task Force. This makes sense, considering Daredevil isn’t the only vigilante in the MCU of whom Kingpin is sick; therefore, having him join forces with other heroes to take them down and rid the world of Kingpin’s control would be an interesting option.
This would also create another team for Marvel Studios to use in the future, adding to the likes of Thunderbolts* and the Avengers. It’s unknown at this stage who will be joining forces with Daredevil in this team, but it’s more than likely going to be other street-level characters, such as Punisher, who has a similar vibe to Daredevil. Marvel Studios won’t want to overload the team with characters who have crazy powers, so people shouldn’t be anticipating Doctor Strange to join forces with them. However, one character who could end up being involved is Moon Knight, who hasn’t been seen in the MCU since 2022.
Moon Knight Must Make His Return In Daredevil: Born Again
Moon Knight is a character fans have been wondering about for a while, questioning when or if he will make a return to the MCU. Being in Daredevil: Born Again feels like a perfect way to address that and bring the character back because his violent side would suit the tone of this show perfectly. Daredevil: Born Again is another example of Marvel Studios pushing the boundaries due to its rating, but the fact there are so many people watching it proves it’s not going to be an issue. Moon Knight is extremely violent with his fighting style, and that’s a trait that could be leaned into even further if he was part of this show.
Adding Moon Knight to a team of vigilantes feels fitting for him. Whether it’s fight scenes in the darkness or his dealings with the mental challenges he faces, it’s easy to see why this would be the right place to reintroduce him. Moon Knight suits the world created for Daredevil: Born Again, but it would also create something totally different within the show, which could freshen things up in an exciting manner.
Marvel Studios Needs To Use Moon Knight Soon
It has become clear that a second season of Moon Knight isn’t going to be happening on Disney Plus, which is a shame because the mythology that was created around the character was very interesting. Marvel did a great job of showcasing the powers that Moon Knight has and the complications he’s dealing with, but the show came and went with a whimper as it didn’t make the long-lasting impact people thought it would. However, in Oscar Isaac, they have a fantastic actor, and that’s something that Marvel Studios needs to ensure it doesn’t go to waste. His talent needs to be at the forefront of the MCU, and the dedication he initially put into the character is something that should be explored further.
Marvel television executive Brad Winderbaum has promised that there are “plans for Moon Knight down the road,” which means the character hasn’t been forgotten about within the MCU. However, fans do need to be given something to see in a bid to believe this. Moon Knight is a tricky character to place into other MCU projects due to how violent he is, but the tone of Daredevil: Born Again works perfectly for him. If there’s going to be a team, then there’s even less of a risk because he’d be a sum of all parts rather than the main focus. If it’s not going to happen in Daredevil: Born Again, then it could be tricky for Marvel to identify another opportunity, which is why they should capitalize on this.
