Summary

  • The annual Return to Yharnam event in Bloodborne celebrates the game’s anniversary and encourages multiplayer engagement.

  • Despite calls for a PC port, Bloodborne remains exclusive to PlayStation.

The annual Return to Yharnam event is back in Bloodborne, with fans of the beloved FromSoftware action-RPG returning to the game to celebrate its anniversary. Bloodborne earned a great deal of critical acclaim when it first released in 2015, with many praising it as one of FromSoftware’s greatest games to date. Like many of FromSoftware’s other games, Bloodborne features multiplayer support, but there are restrictions on it that can make it difficult to match with other players.

This has proven increasingly problematic for Bloodborne‘s co-op and multiplayer features in the years since the game’s release as its fans have largely moved on to other games. To give gamers a chance to experience or relive Bloodborne multiplayer, the community comes together every year for the annual Return to Yharnam event.

Bloodborne, like any of the Soulsborne games, features a strong lineup of incredibly powerful bosses. These are the toughest of the bunch.

The latest Bloodborne Return to Yharnam event is live now and runs until April 7. To participate in Return to Yharnam, Bloodborne players need to create a new character, set their matchmaking region to Worldwide, summon others for co-op and invasions as much as possible, and leave a note in the Hunter’s Dream next to the Bath Messengers that says “You’re in the know, right?” Bloodborne players are encouraged to upvote messages like these that they find while participating in the Return to Yharnam event.

When is Bloodborne Return to Yharnam 2025?

Return to Yharnam gives Bloodborne players an excuse to return to the original game every year, whether on original PlayStation 4 hardware or through the backward compatible version on PS5. However, some Bloodborne fans may be getting anxious for the game to get a native release on PS5 and PC. Bloodborne remains one of the only major FromSoftware games of the last decade to not be released on PC, leaving the company’s fans on the platform disappointed.

There have been rumblings of a Bloodborne remaster or PC port over the years, but nothing concrete has ever materialized. With PlayStation bringing its games to PC, one would think that a Bloodborne PC port would top the list, especially considering how much demand there has been for the game. But for reasons that still have not been explained, Bloodborne has remained trapped on PlayStation consoles.

The latest Return to Yharnam event marks 10 years since Bloodborne first released on PS4. Some fans may be holding out hope for an announcement to coincide with the 10th anniversary, but that doesn’t seem to be taking place. For now, those nostalgic for Bloodborne, or those that have never played it, should definitely enjoy Return to Yharnam while it lasts.
