We are just a week away from CinemaCon, and that could mean some major reveals for the biggest movies launching this year. Sony, Disney, Amazon, Warner Bros., Universal, and more will be hosting panels at the movie showcase, and each of them is expected to bring exciting news for fans.

Superman and Mission: Impossible will be fine. Captain America? I’m not so sure.
Amongst the most anticipated reveals is Shrek 5, which had a minor teaser recently, revealing that Zendaya has been added to the cast as Shrek’s daughter – though the whereabouts of his other two children are unclear. Maybe the Universal panel will have some time for DreamWorks to give us more of the iconic ogre ahead of the film’s planned release for Holidays 2026.
Could We Finally Get More Spider-Verse At CinemaCon?
Fans are also hoping to see Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse appear at Sony’s showcase, although it is hope rather than expectation. Originally slated for March 29, 2024, the WGA/SAG strikes and a host of other delays have derailed the film’s production schedule. The movie was bumped to an unspecified date in 2025, then its release date was removed entirely – with speculation rife that it might not arrive until 2027. This would be four years after Spider-Man: Across The Spider-Verse, which it was supposed to be the second part to.
Speaking of second parts that weren’t, we might also see Mission: Impossible: The Final Reckoning, which was once called Dead Reckoning – Part Two and is due to release this summer. We already have one trailer for it, but Mission: Impossible movies tend to have a blockbuster promotional cycle, usually centred around Tom Cruise’s latest death-defying stunt. With this set to be the finale of the series, expect Paramount to go all out for this one. A full list of all the panels is available below.

Damien Chazelle’s Babylon failed to make back its budget, but it won over the hearts and minds of the most ardent cinephiles.
There are a few projects that may be a little far away for us to learn much of them yet, however. Amazon has just acquired James Bond, but it is unlikely the company will have had time to plan much. Some ostentatious show of Jeff Bezos in an Aston Martin or holding a martini might be the best we can hope for. And when I say ‘best’, well. I don’t mean best. Should he be there in person, we may have to endure “the name’s Bezos. Jeff Bezos” being delivered to lukewarm applause.
It also feels a little premature for The Hunger Games. The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping will release in cinemas in November 2026, and while that is a month before Shrek, Lionsgate may want to give fans a bit of time to read the newly released Sunrise on the Reaping novel (which focuses on Haymitch’s Games) before announcing the cast. Then again, it might want to strike while the publicity is hot, especially after the success of the Rachel Zegler-led Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes.
Keep an eye out for Wicked and Superman too, which will likely get major showcases as the two movies most likely to dominate this year’s box office.
