- They had that this is “just the beginning for Shadows”, and are listening to feedback to improve the game.
Assassin’s Creed Shadows has been one of the most prominent targets of ‘anti-woke’ crowds online. So, it was no surprise when it was reported that Ubisoft had plans in place to defend its employees, reportedly extending to “psychological and legal support” for anyone caught up in an online hate campaign.
Now, Assassin’s Creed Shadows has launched, and the conversation is much more positive. While there are still vocal groups online complaining about perceived ‘wokeness’ in the game, it’s largely drowned out by the praise, something which the devs are thankful for.
Ubisoft Thanks The Fans After Assassin’s Creed Shadows’ Launch
“This weekend, many of us on the Dev Team spent time reading your reactions across the Assassin’s Creed subreddit – and we just want to say thank you,” the message from the team opens. “The sheer amount of love and positivity we’ve received has been incredibly heartwarming.
“Seeing your excitement, your thoughtful reactions, and your joy has meant the world to us. After years of hard work, there’s nothing more rewarding than watching the community connect with what we’ve created.”
The team adds that it is “listening” to feedback too, so the game can “keep improving”. The message closes off by saying that this is “just the beginning for Shadows”, so we can expect to see updates based on how fans are reacting to the game.
The devs have a lot to feel good about right now. The game reached two million players in just two days and also has the highest concurrent player number on Steam in the entire series.
