KRAFTON, InZOI‘s developer, has given details of InZOI‘s roadmap that detail what players can expect from InZOI with regard to updates and DLC. This transparency has been welcomed by many as it gives insight into what players can expect after purchasing the Early Access version of InZOI, but it’s also been praised for including add-ons and expansion packs for free while in EA.
InZOI has currently outlined a content roadmap that includes free updates and at least one expansion pack. Cosmetic and item drops for InZOI are planned to release at three-month intervals and are considered minor updates, while there will be four major updates in 2025. There is one DLC for InZOI planned for 2025. Planned to coincide with August 8, International Cat Day, it will feature a new city called Kucingku. The Drawbacks of InZOI’s Early Access
Video games don’t always use early access, as there are some drawbacks to it that can deal a significant blow to the game and players in the long-term. Launching a game in early access means skipping the typical marketing cycle that builds hype for a game. If a game is story-driven, such as Baldur’s Gate 3 or Hades 2, it also risks spoiling the story before the game launches in full as the full vision of the game developer.
Another problem is that early access involves selling players a game that is unfinished, and will very likely have bugs and glitches. There can’t be too many of these, or players will feel like they’re been used as QA testers. Finally, a game can’t be in early access for too long, or hype for the game will invariably die. KRAFTON has circumvented some of these concerns by being transparent about inZOI‘s aims for Early Access.
