Summary

  • A few weeks ago, Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3+4 was finally announced, but it looked like Bam Margera wouldn’t make his return.
  • While that did seem to be the case, it’s since been claimed that Bam will be in THPS 3+4 due to a demand from Tony Hawk.
  • This news comes from The Live Club skating podcast co-host Roger Bagley, who revealed as much during a livestream.

Despite what has previously been claimed, it looks like Bam Margera is going to be in Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3+4 after all as he was reportedly added in “at the last minute” at Tony Hawk’s request.

Ever since the Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater games started making a comeback over the past few years, long-term fans have wondered whether controversial skater and former Jackass star Bam Margera would ever get the spotlight again. Bam was previously a big part of the Pro Skater games, especially Underground 1 and 2, but his troubled life led to some distance being put between him and THPS.

In recent years, Margera was fired from Jackass Forever and removed from the film due to substance abuse, and was even sentenced to six months’ probation due to allegedly assaulting and threatening his brother.

Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 + 4 Sure Has A Lot Of Product Placement

Airport has as many brands as, well, a real airport.

This was most evident in Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1+2, where Bam’s face was intentionally scrubbed off the cover art for Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater Underground in the Hangar level. With a new remastered collection, Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3+4, recently being revealed, that’s led to some questions over whether Bam would once again be erased from skater history.

It Looks Like Bam Margera Is Going To Be In Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3+4

Back when Pro Skater 3+4 was first revealed, Activision shared most of the skaters who would be appearing in the game, including a lineup of classics that didn’t include Bam. That made it seem as if he was being left out on purpose once again, but it looks like Tony Hawk himself might have solved the problem.

As reported by VGC, The Live Club skating podcast co-host Roger Bagley suggested that Bam originally wasn’t going to be included in the game, just like previous reports claimed. However, Tony Hawk’s insistence that Bam be included in Pro Skater 3+4 reportedly caused Activision to put Bam back in the game, including getting him body-scanned.

Well, here’s what happened. The game was already done. Tony called up Activision and was like ‘hey, we’re putting Bam in the thing’, and they were like ‘hey, we can’t’. He goes ‘no, you’re gonna do it’, and basically made them fly Bam back out there. – Roger Bagley

Bagley’s claims make it sound like Bam was never supposed to be in Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3+4, but that the Birdman himself demanded he be in it. Until it officially gets announced by Activision, we won’t know for sure, but considering Hawk has been seen skating with Margera in recent months, it does seem possible that he fought to have him added.
