Cozy games continue to grow in popularity. There is something so relaxing about settling down with your cozy game of choice and gaming the night away. If you are looking to make some meaningful relationships, you have a wide variety of options that involve romance as well.
Here, we are going to take a look at some of the best cozy games that involve romance. Typically, this comes in the form of pursuing a romance option and (if all goes according to plan) marrying them, but this isn’t always the case. Romance isn’t required in these games, so you can also just settle for friendship if you want!

Stardew Valley
Let’s get the obvious out of the way. Stardew Valley is the king of cozy games. While there are some stressful moments, you’ll ultimately lead a very relaxed life and have a chance to pursue 12 different marriage candidates.
Each romance option has their own personality, likes, and dislikes that you will need to learn. Additionally, as you level up your relationship, you’ll be able to witness cutscenes that let you learn a bit more about them. Overall, if you’ve never played Stardew Valley, what are you waiting for?

Palia
Palia is a free-to-play multiplayer sim game, but there are also several romanceable characters that you can find throughout the world. Overall, this game is very laid back, with pretty much no stressful situations. Unless, of course, you’re struggling to decide how to decorate your house.
There is an average amount of characters that you can romance, and the mechanics are pretty similar to Stardew Valley. You’ll need to befriend the villager, and eventually gift them a specific item indicating that you want to pursue romance. If all goes well, you may have a new partner!

Lake
Lake is a bit different from the other games we’ve mentioned so far. Rather than being a life simulator that lets you explore and roleplay, Lake puts you in the shoes of Meredith. As her, you’ll revisit the town she grew up in and become a temporary mailwoman.

What you choose to do is up to you, but there are some romance options that you can pursue. There are only two; Angie and Mark. While the lack of choices may be concerning, it removes the trouble of picking who you want to pursue.

My Time At Sandrock
My Time At Sandrock is another iconic life and farming sim, this time bringing you to Sandrock. As expected, this is a sandy area that isn’t doing too well, economically speaking. Your goal is to build and save the town, but you have room for romance along the way.
The game offers more than 20 romance options. As with typical life sim romances, you’ll be able to pursue and eventually marry them. My Time At Sandrock also lets you take these romancable characters on dates, which is quite cute.

Fields Of Mistria
Fields of Mistria just looks cozy, huh? This game looks quite nostalgic, though it launched in August of 2024. In Fields of Mistria, your goal is to restore the town, build up your farm, explore the world, and maybe even find a potential love interest.
The game has a total of 12 love interests that you can pursue. Each of these characters has their own occupation too. Want to pursue the traveling merchant? Go for it! The character sprites in Fields of Mistria are reminiscent of classic JRPG sprites, adding a layer of coziness.
3
Boyfriend Dungeon
At first glance, Boyfriend Dungeon may not look the coziest. Cozy games don’t always need to be life/farming sims though, and Boyfriend Dungeon proves this. In this game, you’ll be able to dungeon crawl with a trusty weapon at your side, who happens to be a weapon.

That’s right; the people that you date function as your weapon. Overall, Boyfriend Dungeon flawlessly combines a dating sim with a dungeon crawler, making a wonderful experience for everyone.
2
Sun Haven
Sun Haven is another game that is often compared to Stardew Valley. While the life and farming sim aspect is definitely there, you can also pursue a more magical path. As you become stronger, you can unlock new perks on your skill tree, allowing you to conquer even more.
The game boasts a whopping 23 romance options that you can get to know. On the Steam page, there is even mention of dating all of them; hopefully that won’t get too messy. While the ultimate goal with a romance option is marriage, you’ll also be able to complete quests for them and go on dates. Eventually, the two of you can even have a child!

Cassette Beasts
Last but not least, we have Cassette Beasts. This game is primarily a creature collector, similar to Pokemon. In fact, if you love Pokemon, then you will probably like this game too. Cassette Beasts features the ability to combine monsters to make ones that are even more powerful.
In addition to collecting creatures, you can bring along a partner to fight by your side. By leveling up your relationship with the partner, you’ll be able to increase the strength of your fusions. This means that pursuing a partner has strategic benefits!
