Beam weapons are some of Warframe
strongest firearms, turning enemies into atoms if they make contact for any amount of time. The Torid’s Incarnon form, the Tenet Glaxion, and the Kuva Nukor are just a few of the game’s most notable beam weapons. Yet most players forget about the Synapse.
This ancient Infested beam rifle has mostly been powercrept by recent additions, but thanks to the addition of Coda weapons, the Coda Synapse has risen among the DPS charts as an excellent bossing weapon. Today, we’ll be looking at how to get the Synapse and showcase a strong endgame build you can use to deal with bosses and tankier adds alike.
How To Obtain The Synapse
You can get the standard Synapse from the Bio Lab in your clan dojo. You’ll need to be part of a clan to access the Bio Lab and the Synapse’s main blueprint. If you don’t want to join a clan, you can either buy the weapon from the in-game market for Platinum or farm for the Coda variant instead.
The Coda version of the Synapse is found in Eleanor’s shop in Hollvania, costing ten Live Heartcells. You’ll get this resource from slaying
Technocyte Codas
, otherwise known as Infested Liches. This content will become available to you upon completing ”
The Hex
” quest.

The Synapse is a primary weapon that fires a corrosive beam at targets, featuring exceptional critical stats at the cost of low status chance and moderate base damage. It’s a fairly hard-hitting weapon if you spec heavily into critical hits, although it won’t scale as well as an Incarnon Torid or a Tenet Glaxion due to its low status chance.
Unfortunately, the Coda version of the Synapse does not feature any new mechanics; rather, the weapon deals significantly more damage once you account for its progenitor bonus. Use this weapon for single-target DPS or as a stat stick for a Specter. This is especially useful for On-Call crewmates if you farm Profit-Taker or Liches.

Synapse Builds
We’ll be focusing on one endgame build for the Synapse today, buffing its critical stats to make this weapon a DPS monster in harder content. With some small tweaks, you can also use this as a stat stick for your Specters and Railjack crewmates to pump out some serious damage. Since the Synapse doesn’t have any chaining capabilities, focus on single-target DPS over cleave.

This setup is all about maximizing your damage. We use Galvanized Diffusion for multishot, Primary Merciless or Deadhead to scale our base damage, and Vile Acceleration for some much-needed fire rate. Critical stats are worth investing in here, so we suggest using Critical Delay and Galvanized Scope to greatly buff your critical chance. The critical damage bonuses from Vital Sense and Bladed Rounds will make this weapon hit like a truck.
You have enough room for an elemental combo of your choosing. Ideally, you’ll want to use Viral—created using Primed Cryo Rounds and Malignant Force—to greatly increase the target’s damage vulnerability. Paired with the weapon’s innate Corrosive, the Synapse will shred through most endgame targets with ease.
