Fallout Star Shares Disappointing Update About Anticipated Season 2

One of the Fallout stars talked about Season 2, and there seemed to be no concrete update about when they would begin filming.

Fallout Season 2 is currently in production, and fans are obviously excited about it. Industry scooper Jeff Sneider shared an update about the show in the latest episode of The Hot Mic. According to the insider, Lisa Joy and Jonathan Nolan, the executive producers, are already planning for their third season. Sneider shared: “I was told that he and Lisa Joy are a little bit busy doing Season 3 of ‘Fallout.’ Busy filming Season 2 [right now]… but I think they’re already planning out Season 3.Sneider’s announcement is considered a pretty major update about the franchise because Amazon hasn’t officially announced Fallout Season 3. So, one should take the report with a grain of salt even if it is exciting news.

Fans Are Eagerly Anticipating The New Season Of Fallout

Fallout‘s second season is one of the most anticipated shows Prime Video has in the works. In October 2024, Purnell said she hadn’t gotten a script yet but was excited to get things going. A few weeks later, in November, they began filming for the second season. In February, Goggins told Deadline they were “in the middle of filming it right now.” The John Bronco star also compared the first and second seasons. According to him, he was “very pleased” with Season 1, but the writers outperformed their work in the first season. He added:

It’s really gonna be something, I can’t wait for people to see it. We’re working really hard to make that happen.

Based on Goggins’ statement, Fallout Season 2 could end up being better than the first season. Pushing a third season makes sense, as there are seemingly endless reams of Fallout lore the show could get into. For instance, they can explore The Enclave, a shadowy faction descended from pre-war U.S. government officials. The Enclave has been a recurring antagonist in the game series. Exploring them on the show would be a compelling storyline as it could allow the creatives to explore ideas surrounding advanced technology and authoritarian ideologies.

Fallout has a solid fan base built in and when the franchise hit Prime Video, it gained new fans who have little to no experience with video games. Two seasons is simply too short a timeframe to explore Fallout as a whole, so fans will surely be delighted if a third season is greenlit.
