Assassin’s Creed Shadows will often throw players into a situation where they’ll need to make a choice that will have an impact on their companions. One of the first instances when players will need to make an impactful choice happens in the Heads Will Roll quest. After assassinating Wada Koretake, Naoe will need to decide whether to let Mitsumune kill the captured soldiers of the castle or spare them. Whatever players choose will impact Yaya’s impression of Naoe.

How to Turn On Guaranteed One Hit Assassinations In AC Shadows
Assassin’s Creed Shadows offers a way for players to enable guaranteed one-hit assassinations, just like the original games.
Should You Choose Justice Must Be Served or Killing Them Isn’t Justice in AC Shadows?
Players will encounter this choice with Mitsumune towards the end of the Heads Will Roll main quest after assassinating Wada Koretake in Assassin’s Creed Shadows. After he’s assassinated, everyone will gather in the courtyard and Mitsumune’s men will gather captured warrior monks.
An angered Mitsumune will ask that the captured soldiers/warrior monks be killed to avenge all the souls that perished at the hands of Oda Nobunaga. On the other hand, Yaya will reason with Mitsumune and ask him to avoid any further bloodshed as it will be pointless.
The final call will be up to Naoe whether the captured monks/soldiers should be dealt the swift blade of justice, or whether they should be spared to avoid further killing.
Justice Must Be Served Outcome (Let Mitsumune Kill Captive Soldiers)
If players choose the “Justice Must Be Served” option with Mitsumune, Yaya will be displeased with Naoe’s decision and walk away angrily. After that, Mitsumune will signal one of his men and he’ll cut down the captured warrior monk.
Once this happens, Mitsumune will walk away asking Naoe if she was ready to witness such bloodshed. Once the Heads Will Roll quest is completed, Yaya’s quest called “The Stray Dogs” will become available.
Killing Them Isn’t Justice Outcome (Ask Mitsumune to Spare Captive Soldiers)
If players choose the “Killing Them Isn’t Justice” option with Mitsumune, Yaya will be appreciative of Naoe’s decision and agree that the men captured deserve forgiveness. However, despite asking Mitsumune to spare the soldiers, he would still signal his men to kill the captured warrior monk. The rest of the interaction will go similarly as well.
So, the decision does not have any impact on this mission’s outcome. However, at least Yaya will see Naoe in a more positive light. So, this might be a slightly better choice overall compared to the other.
