Assassin’s Creed Shadows features a multitude of shrines in every region. Here’s how to find each of them.
Where to Use Keys in Assassin’s Creed Shadows
As mentioned above, Keys are mainly used to buy gear from the Exchange Shop in the Animus Menu. To access it, press the main menu button while in-game. From there, hold down the Menu button on Xbox or the touchpad on PlayStation. PC players can press F1.
This will open the Shadows_Projects menu, which is mainly the game’s Battle Pass system. Use the trigger buttons or Q/E, depending on your platform, to switch to the Exchange tab. You will now arrive at the Exchange shop.
The Exchange Shop is divided into two sections: Weekly Selections and Daily Selections. As the names suggest, Weekly Selections refresh each week, while Daily Selections reset every day. The Keys you earn in Assassin’s Creed Shadows are used to purchase items in this specific shop.
The cost of each item depends on its rarity. Weekly Selections usually feature Legendary Gear and Weapons for Naoe or Yasuke, making it worth saving up your Keys when you can.
How to Acquire Keys in Assassin’s Creed Shadows
Now that you know what Keys are used for, let’s talk about how to get them. Currently, there are two methods of acquiring Keys in Assassin’s Creed Shadows.
The first and perhaps the easiest way is through the Battle Pass system. Both the Legacy and Awakening Battle Passes offer Keys as rewards for hitting specific milestones. Depending on your Battle Pass level, you can earn anywhere between 1,000 to 2,000 Keys per milestone. Maxing out both passes will earn you 14,000 Keys total, with 5 milestone rewards in each pass.
While that’s a generous amount and will get you plenty of rewards from the Exchange Shop, there’s another method for collecting even more.
As you roam around Japan, you’ll find hidden Keys scattered throughout the map. Each of these pickups grants you 30 Keys to add to your collection. Exploring thoroughly and picking up these hidden Keys can stack up quickly, especially if you’re completing objectives along the way.
The number of Keys you have in your collection is shown in the top right corner of your screen in the Animus menu.
Assassin’s Creed Shadows has a ton of legendary loot that you can collect for the two protagonists. While some of them are easy to get to, most are hidden behind tough enemy encounters or difficult areas. By spending Keys in the Exchange shop, you can gear up early, making those challenging battles a lot more manageable.
