How Did Sakamoto Become an Assassin In Sakamoto Days?
Taro Sakamoto Reveals That He Is an Orphan
Not much is known about the early life of Sakamoto until Sakamoto Days chapter 199, “Ikari,” reveals an important detail about his past. Sakamoto, as an assassin, is a man full of mystery. No one knows where he came from, who his parents are, where he grew up, or how he entered the Japan Clear Creation (JCC). It was a huge surprise that Sakamoto unexpectedly brought up a small detail about his past to another character, particularly to a younger Shin of all people, in the series.

According to Sakamoto, he has no parents, which brings more questions to the table rather than answers. He told Shin about it in chapter 199, while he tried to assassinate Tasuku Ando, who was revealed to be Shin’s father, and the same Ando who was a friend to Asakura, the head researcher at Okutabi Research Lab. However, there are speculations that Sakamoto might have stayed at an orphanage run by the JAA, where orphans are trained to become top-notch assassins like Shin. There were also theories that Sakamoto’s parents abandoned him, which might explain why he never searched for them.
Sakamoto Enters Japan Clear Creation
Sakamoto Goes On To Befriend Rion and Nagumo
It’s no secret that Sakamoto is a Japan Clear Creation (JCC) alumnus. In fact, Sakamoto enrolled at the young age of 14 and the rest is history. During Sakamoto’s time at the JCC, he encounters a lot of characters who later become his comrades in the profession, such as Nagumo Yoichi and Rion Akao. The three of them were famous in the JCC because of how problematic they were and all the mayhem they caused, not only to the other students but also to their teachers.

When Sakamoto returned to the JCC in disguise as his wife, he couldn’t help but reminisce about his good times with his comrades. He even retained his aversion to Etsuko Satoda, who had whipped him as well as Nagumo in the past, especially when they tried to look for the legendary database of the JCC. Their stubborn behavior led them to expulsion until the vice principal gave them an assignment—to kill the Steel Dragon, otherwise known as Kindaka—to pass.
Sakamoto Next Step Was To Join The Order
Taro Sakamoto Accepts Yotsumura’s Invitation
Except for Rion, Sakamoto and Nagumo become members of The Order. At the time, Rion, along with Uzuki, was missing, which explains why they weren’t at the hospital when Sakamoto and Nagumo encountered Yotsumura Satoru, one of the founding members of The Order. The three had a rough encounter, with Sakamoto fighting Yotsumura due to his offensive comments about Rion.
Despite this, Sakamoto accepted Yotsumura’s offer to become an assassin working under The Order. He only joined because he wanted to find out the truth about Rion and Uzuki’s disappearance and investigate their possible whereabouts. The investigation was a success, but the events relating to Rion and Uzuki would later become a huge problem for Sakamoto and The Order.
As a member of The Order, Sakamoto has been through a lot of assignments, and almost all of them are successful. He worked with a lot of assassins, particularly Nagumo, who, in the current events of Sakamoto Days, has become one of his reliable allies. After Sakamoto’s early exit from The Order, he marries Aoi and becomes a family man.
