Fans of Fortnite seem to be confused by the latest pair of Kicks called Rock Bottoms that were added to the Item Shop of the popular battle royale. A large portion of the community has taken issue with the price of Kicks, as some licensed sneakers cost up to 1,000 V-Bucks. Since numerous full outfits only cost 800 V-Bucks, some players are annoyed that an accessory could be more expensive than the skin it’s equipped on. As of writing, all original Kicks designed by Epic Games cost 600 V-Bucks. While many members of the community seem more accepting of these Fortnite original designs, they still feel the price of all Kicks should be cut in half.

In a recent post on Reddit, Immediate_Vast3838 shared an image of Fortnite‘s latest Kicks, Rock Bottoms, and expressed their confusion about what the shoes actually are. The Item Shop shows a pair of boots stuck in two large blocks of cement. Many gamers immediately started making jokes about the mob and mafia, quoting movies like Goodfellas and The Godfather. Some people were excited by the design, stating that they enjoy Fortnite‘s original designs more than any of the licensed ones.
Fortnite’s Rock Bottoms Kicks Are Confusing Fans
Several gamers said they would love to purchase the cosmetic but still feel that Fortnite‘s Kicks are a little too expensive. Others immediately started to discuss which characters might look best with the cement shoes. Fortunately, the Item Shop allows players to preview Kicks on any eligible character they have in their locker.
Many gamers have also taken issue with the fact that licensed Kicks don’t have any edit styles. So far, only one pair of Kicks has an edit style, which allows players to choose whether their fluffy bunny slippers are blue or pink. A large portion of the community has asked Epic Games to give more of Fortnite‘s Kicks edit styles, claiming that the feature would increase the value of the accessory. As of writing, collaborations with Nike, Adidas, and Crocs all feature Kicks that are recolors and are priced just as high as the original design. Despite a few hiccups with Kicks, many fans are feeling optimistic about the future of Fortnite.
