Hello Kitty Island Adventure: 7 Biggest Differences Between The Mobile And PC/Console Version
Hello Kitty Island Adventure is currently available on Apple Arcade, Steam, and Nintendo Switch. What’s the difference between these versions though?
In this guide, we will take a look at all you need to know about flowers in Hello Kitty Island Adventure. While flowers are a great way to spruce up the island, becoming a flower expert is completely optional. If you feel like it though, you can really put a lot of effort into growing beautiful flower fields.
Before diving it, it’s important to note that you do not have to do every action for each flower. By holding down on the action (such as plucking or watering), you can perform the action on every flower in the plot! This is very useful if you have a lot of flowers.
How To Unlock Flower Growing
To unlock flower growing, you’ll first need to make it to Merry Meadows. Here, you’ll see round plots; these are where flowers grow. You can initially grow flowers from seeds found around the area (which look like a handful of tan-ish stones), or get some seed packets from Wish Me Mell within Mystery Seed Capsules.
With seeds in hand, you can plant them. Each seed has several stages of growth; you’ll need a watering can in order to make the flowers grow.
How To Successfully Grow Flowers
Once planted, a seed will progress through five stages, with the fifth stage being a fully grown flower. After plucking it, the plant will go back to the third growth stage. Stages two and four last two days (when consistently watered), so in total, it will take six full days of growth from a seed, with the seventh day yielding a flower.
In order for a flower to grow, you’ll need to water it. At this point, you may already have the watering can. If not, don’t worry! The watering can unlocks after completing the quest Flower Power, which is given by My Melody. To start this quest, you need the following two steps completed.
This quest will teach you about Gift Flowers. These are unique flowers that you only water once in order to get a unique item. Once watered, the flower will permanently stay in bloom and you can’t get another reward from it.
How To Use Nul To Water Flowers
Watering flowers can be quite tedious, but thankfully, there is a way to avoid watering each flower every day. By completing the quest called Friends of the Flowers, you can have a Nul in an area water all flowers there.
This quest unlocks once you complete the Terra Nul quests, as well as Green Thumbs, which unlocks the Seed Dispenser (we’ll go over this later).
Once Friends of the Flowers is complete, you can plop a Sprinkler Hat on a Nul, and then ask them to water all flowers in the region. For example, if you put the Sprinkler Hat on the Nul found in the southern edge of Merry Meadows and then talk to them, they will water all Merry Meadows flowers.
You’ll be able to craft more of these hats, which can be put on Nul in other areas after you plant flowers there.
The Seed Dispenser & Composter
The Seed Dispenser unlocks through the quest Green Thumbs. The quest will teach you how to use the machine, but basically, you can put in flowers in order to get seeds.
After completing the quest called Mulch Be Well, you’ll unlock the other section of the machine, which lets you recycle seeds, dug-up plants, and flowers in order to get Fertilizer.
How To Use Fertilizer
Fertilizer can be used directly on growing flowers. By using it, you will increase the plant’s chances of making seeds and crossbreeding, as well as gaining a new pattern.
Flower Patterns & Colors
Flower Colors
Flowers can come in variety of colors and patterns. Initially, you’ll just have access to basic colors, like white and red. Eventually though, you can crossbreed flowers to get new colors. Below, you can see each color and how it’s made.

Colors that have ‘N/A’ next to them can’t be made; these colors are default for certain types though, so you can get the colors like this. For example, Eggwort can be sky colored by default.
By mixing each of these colors with white (besides flowers that are already white), you can turn certain flowers into a lighter version.
Flower Patterns
In addition to creating new flower colors, you can make new patterns. Below, you can check out all the possible patterns.

Remember, you have a chance to get a new pattern on a flower after fertilizing it.
How To Move Flowers
After completing the quest called Dig It Up, you’ll be able to use a trowel to dig up flowers and relocate them. To unlock this quest, you’ll need to be friendship level ten with Wish Me Mell, and complete Mulch Be Well.
Moving flowers is essential if you are trying to create grids to breed new flowers. Rather than boxing yourself in, just dig up a flower and relocate it somewhere else. These dig-up flowers can also be tossed into the Composter to get some fertilizer.
Where To Plant Flowers
Initially, flowers can only be planted in Merry Meadows. Looking at the map, you’ll see a flower icon highlighting the patch locations. Eventually, you’ll be able to unlock the ability to plant flowers elsewhere. Below, you can see each area, as well as how to unlock flower patches there.

All Flower Types And Their Planting Location
Below, you can check out each flower type available in the game.
There are also a handful of event-specific flowers that you can plant, which are listed below.
Flowers can’t be planted everywhere, so on the table below, you can see each region of the game, and what flowers can be planted there.
Crossbreeding Flowers
To put it simply, there is a lot that goes into flower crossbreeding. By planting flowers next to each other, you can grow flowers with new colors and patterns. If you are just starting out on your flower-growing journey, then we suggest using this Flower Generator. You can put down flowers and see what the possible new flowers will be.
If you are looking to get really invested into flower crossbreeding, we suggest checking online sources that really break down the genetics of flower hybridization. The Hello Kitty Island Adventure wiki has a very in-depth walkthrough and explanation of breeding. We highly suggest using this source, especially if you are aiming to get every flower.
