Best Trials Of Osiris Weapons, Ranked

Summary

  • Players prioritize Trials of Osiris for powerful weapon rewards in Destiny 2 PvP and PvE.
  • Different weapons excel in either PvE or PvP content, impacting players’ weapon choices.
  • Exalted Truth and Keen Thistle stand out as top-tier weapons for PvP and PvE activities.

Trials of Osiris is the pinnacle of PvP content in Destiny 2, pitting Guardians against each other in an intense competitive mode where losing means restarting. While Bungie has recently made it easier to reach the Lighthouse — Trials of Osiris’ exclusive social space for Guardians who managed to win seven games while losing none — many players care little about reaching the top of this mountain.

Thanks to this activity housing several weapon rewards that are incredibly powerful in both PvP and PvE content, many players are simply interested in playing Trials of Osiris to obtain these weapons rather than proving their PvP prowess. This list looks at each weapon available as of Episode Heresy, ranking them in order of their power across both PvP and PvE.

Yesterday’s Question

Arc Heavy Burst Hand Cannon

Destiny 2 Yesterday's Question
  • Best PvE Roll: Dragonfly and Voltshot
  • Best PvP Roll: To The Pain and Headseeker

Yesterday’s Question is one of five Heavy Burst frame hand cannons — and the only one of the five to be an Arc damage weapon. As such, the main reason to pick up this weapon is its Arc perks, specifically Voltshot. This perk allows Yesterday’s Question to easily clear a room with chaining Arc damage, made more potent when combined with Dragonfly for elemental explosions upon landing a precision kill.

This weapon is in its element in PvE, struggling to keep up with some of its Heavy Burst counterparts when placed in PvP. It can, however, roll with To The Pain and Headseeker, which is a combo that can make it a potentially good dueling option. However, it is outclassed by almost all other hand cannons. For a better PvP Arc hand cannon, the reintroduced Palindrome is a much more powerful option.

Tomorrow’s Answer

Void High-Impact Frame Rocket Launcher

Destiny 2 Tomorrow's Answer
  • Best PvE Roll: Envious Arsenal and Bait and Switch
  • Best PvP Roll: Impulse Amplifier and Cluster Bombs

Tomorrow’s Answer is a potential powerhouse, able to roll with Envious Arsenal and Bait and Switch, two perks that activate upon dealing damage with both other equipped weapons, subsequently reloading this weapon and boosting its damage. This is the most sought-after roll on many rocket launchers, making Tomorrow’s Answer one of the best Void options in the game. The main thing holding this weapon back is simply that rocket launchers are not the current flavor of the meta, making this weapon a hugely underappreciated reward.

Rocket launchers are one of the go-to choices for boss DPS in Destiny 2. Here’s which rocket launchers are worth getting asap.

In terms of PvP perks, Tomorrow’s Answer can roll with Impulse Amplifier and Cluster Bombs, which allow for a very fast-moving rocket and a large area-of-effect. However, rocket launchers are, once again, not overly useful in PvP.

Shayura’s Wrath

Void Precision Frame Submachine Gun

Destiny 2 Shayura's Wrath
  • Best PvE Roll: Repulsor Brace and Destabilizing Rounds
  • Best PvP Roll: Zen Moment and Target Lock

Shayura’s Wrath was once an incredibly powerful PvP monster, running the Crucible for some time after its initial release. Since then, Guardians have moved on from the SMG meta, finding success with a number of other powerful options. However, the refreshed perk options on Shayura’s Wrath have the potential to make it absolutely unstoppable in PvE, with Repulsor Brace and Destabilizing Rounds making for the perfect Void setup — especially when used by a Void Hunter.

In PvP, Shayura’s Wrath is not as overpowering as it once was. However, the combination of Zen Moment and Target Lock makes for a weapon that becomes more accurate and powerful the longer the player remains in combat with a single enemy.

3

Aisha’s Care

Strand Heavy Burst Pulse Rifle

Destiny 2 Aisha's Care
  • Best PvE Roll: Slice and Hatchling
  • Best PvP Roll: Zen Moment and Headseeker or Desperado

Aisha’s Care is one of several Heavy Burst pulse rifles, which have quickly risen to the top of many players’ lists of favorite weapon types. Aisha’s Care is the only Strand example of the archetype, and as such, the best PvE roll for this weapon is Slice, spreading Sever around after using a class ability, and Hatchling, which creates Strand Threadlings on kills. There are almost no Strand builds that this weapon wouldn’t fit into, and it finds a home in all PvE content.

Destiny 2: 21 Best Strand Weapons

Players will want to keep note of the best strand weapons in Destiny 2 to optimize their builds in both PvE and PvP.

Heavy Burst pulse rifles are just as good in PvP as they are in PvE, and the roll of Zen Moment and Headseeker or Desperado makes this weapon incredibly powerful in both 1-on-1 duels and multi-player kill chaining. With Zen Moment and Headseeker both making the weapon more consistent, and Desperado boosting its fire rate, this weapon is incredibly lethal at almost all ranges, only truly struggling in melee range combat.

2

Exalted Truth

Void Adaptive Frame Hand Cannon

Destiny 2 Exalted Truth
  • Best PvE Roll: Withering Gaze or Destabilizing Rounds and Repulsor Brace or Demoralize
  • Best PvP Roll: Slideshot or Keep Away and Precision Instrument or Magnificent Howl

Exalted Truth is the most recently reintroduced Trials of Osiris weapon, and its latest iteration has skyrocketed into popularity. In PvE, this weapon is one of very few that can roll Withering Gaze and Destabilizing Rounds in the first column, with Repulsor Brace and Demoralize in the second. Any of these perk combinations make for a powerful PvE weapon, added to by the episodic artifact mods.

In PvP, this weapon can roll with Slideshot or Keep Away, both of which make the gun more consistent at range, with Precision Instrument or Magnificent Howl as options to increase its damage potential, making it a monster for tearing through teams one Guardian after another. While it may struggle at longer ranges, Exalted Truth is by far one of the best 140 rpm hand cannons for mid-range dueling.

1

Keen Thistle

Solar Aggressive Frame Sniper Rifle

Destiny 2 Keen Thistle
  • Best PvE Roll: Envious Arsenal or Triple Tap and Bait and Switch of Fourth Times The Charm
  • Best PvP Roll: Snapshot Sights and Opening Shot

The final weapon on this list is Keen Thistle, a new weapon in Episode Heresy — and an incredibly powerful one in both PvE and PvP. With Envious Arsenal and Bait and Switch available as an easy DPS option for PvE, Keen Thistle can also roll Triple Tap and Fourth Times The Charm, allowing the player to shoot an unbelievable amount of ammo without reloading as long as they keep hitting precision shots.

Destiny 2: Weapons to Farm for in Episode Heresy

There are some weapons in Destiny 2’s Episode: Heresy that players should definitely farm for so that they have the best endgame weapons possible.

While less entertaining than its PvE rolls, the best PvP roll for Keen Thistle is Snapshot Sights and Opening Shot. This is what most players want on any sniper for PvP, making it incredibly easy to quick-scope enemies at ridiculously short ranges, while also making long-range sniping more consistent. Overall, this weapon can be a powerhouse for any content and will only be more powerful in a season where the artifact plays around with sniper rifles.
