Stardew Valley Fan Builds Incredible In-Game Tribute to Emily
A Stardew Valley fan shares the incredible tribute they’ve built on their farm in-game to Emily, one of the game’s NPCs and bachelorettes.
Stardew Valley player and Reddit user strangerabbitart shared a screenshot of their bizarre discovery of finding Pam standing on their farmland. Under normal circumstances, Pam never goes to the player’s property, only sending letters through the mail. One can likely imagine being startled and confused to find the NPC suddenly standing there, but it’s made even weirder by the fact that it’s 1:30 am. Given the game’s schedule, Pam should have gone home and to bed by that point, with the Stardrop Saloon, her usual evening hangout, having closed for the night. The surreal moment is only heightened by having Pam casually asking about what kind of food the farmer has growing.
Stardew Valley Player Share Stories of Rogue NPC Appearances
In the comments, players have been discussing this odd moment and sharing some of their own. It would seem that NPCs appearing on farms has been happening to more than one player, though not everyone is upset by it. Some players like the immersion of having NPCs randomly visiting them on their farm. However, not everyone is so fond of the bug. Other players have shared stories of Stardew Valley villagers – and Pam, in particular – appearing on players’ farms and proceeding to walk across them, destroying any solid objects in their path. It’s easy to see how that would quickly become frustrating, especially if there was no way of predicting when an NPC would show up.
While this bug seems to be fairly new, Stardew Valley NPCs having weird pathfinding isn’t entirely uncommon. Players have been sharing stories for years of their NPC spouses randomly walking outside their homes through solid walls, or discovering NPCs standing around in random places in the middle of the night. Players may want to take care to leave an open path on their farm in case an NPC appears, or at least ensure that nothing valuable is around the entrance where it could potentially get destroyed. With any luck, a patch will fix this in the near future, but having NPCs coming to visit could be a fun feature to add somewhere down the line.
