HairUnlocked
Brings Many In-Game Hairstyles To The Character Creator
There’s a huge number of well-detailed, fleshed-out NPCs in Baldur’s Gate 3, many of whom can grace the players’ camp for a while or act as integral characters during main and side quests. These characters are often well-written enough to be memorable in their own right, but some often have physically defining features as well. For players who want to invite some more uniqueness into their own look, the HairUnlocked mod adds NPC-exclusive hairstyles to the character creation menu.

Baldur’s Gate 3 Studio is Now Fully Focused on Its Next Game
Baldur’s Gate 3 developer Larian confirms that it is now fully focused on its next project.
This includes the iconic hairstyles of companions such as Karlach or Shadowheart, allowing players to either emulate these characters or—for those still striving towards uniqueness—outright steal them from their companions, and swap their follower’s hairstyles for something else. Sorry Shadowheart, my bangs now.

Kay’s Hair Mod
Adds Entirely New Hairstyles To The Game
Even well after launch, there is still new content coming in from Larian to help enhance Baldur’s Gate 3. Modders and developers both understand that the more diversity and variety there is in character creation, the more fresh a second, third, or even fourth playthrough of this game will feel. To that end, Kay’s Hair Mod helps maintain the freshness of the character creator with new hairstyles to help define each player’s character.
Unlike the previous mod, which brings in existing, but NPC-exclusive, hairstyles, this mod brings in hairstyles that were sculpted in Blender from the ground up, making them completely different from anything in vanilla Baldur’s Gate 3.

FaerunColors
An Astonishing Number Of Dyes
The best thing about the massive selection of armors available in Baldur’s Gate 3 is that when players find one they feel best complements their build, they can use dyes to customize it even further and make it their own. Dyes are a relatively inexpensive means of completely recoloring an outfit, taking on tones that better reflect a character’s personality and alignment while also helping them stand out.

The FaerunColors mod adds an astonishing 80+ dyes to the game, each of them popping in a way that’s completely different from vanilla dyes, without standing out as garish or out of place in the world. It’s a simple, lightweight way to just add that little bit of personalization to each game.

Faces Of Faerun
Adds More Face Options To The Character Creator
Before making any kind of zany class or physical build choices, the first thing players will adjust on their character is their face. Mod creator Aloija has done an amazing job adding new, fresh faces to the character creator with the Faces Of Faerun mod, each of which feel perfectly natural and fit right at home with Baldur’s Gate 3‘s setting. These faces avoid stepping into the uncanny valley or “Skyrim companion mod” territory where there’s suddenly an airbrushed supermodel walking through ye olde high fantasy markets.
These faces are for standard builds, so unfortunately short races will not get to experience them, but for those who have just finished a game with a short race, or those willing to put aside their ambitions of playing Fiddlesticks, the Forest Gnome Barbarian, there are plenty of incredibly well-done faces to choose from.

Tasha’s Cauldron Of Everything: Feats
More Feats To Flesh Characters Out
- Mod Creator: Tdakh/TheLucidFrog
- Mod Link
Feats are some of the most important aspects of a player character, providing individual nuances that can help shape a build properly and reflect that character’s skills and growth. While not all feats are made equal, every feat brings something new to the table and adds a new dimension to the character.
Tasha’s Cauldron Of Everything: Feats mod, currently a work in progress but with many feats already added, brings about feats from the Tasha’s Cauldron of Everything expansion for D&D. Many of these feats are staples in the TTRPG, and for players looking to flesh their characters out and make them more effective besides, this mod is a great way to go.

P4 Horn, Makeup, Lip And Tattoo Colors
Adds Colors To Vital Character Accessories
Similar to the other mods on this list, Padme4000’s P4 Horn, Makeup, Lip And Tattoo Colors mod adds new colors to the broad spectrum of options available in BG3‘s character creation menu without going too far and making the options feel garish or out of place.
Horns, makeup, lips, and tattoos now come in a huge array of colors. Some are very bright and vibrant, while others are more understated and somber. It’s a great mix that lets players realize any kind of character they wish to create.
